He has apparently put on 60 pounds since his senior year of high school if he's really at 245 right now.

Yeah, but Mike made him put on all that weight so he could play the 5 instead of his natural position as a stretch 4.
Self was going to put him in "big man" camp, let him lose the weight and play as the NBA bound stretch 4 he truly is.
Bottom line is Kansas needs practice players too.
Mickelson would not be getting more minutes here than he is there.
