What is at stake in the FSU game?

What is really at stake in the FSU game? I have a feeling that the people who care least about this game are UF fans.
I understand that a program whose standard of success is a NC simply will not put too much stock in a single game (excepting UGA), let alone earning an opportunity to play in the taxslayer bowl. But how important is this game for the future of the UF program, recruiting, etc?
I graduated from UGA, and I for one cannot imagine ever being more emotionally invested in Florida winning a football game. Not because of how unlikeable and classless Jameis and Jimbo are, not because of the crab legs, the cursing at the student union, the autographs, the ref mugging and all that shite. I want UF to beat FSU because they are not a top 10 football team. The gators can dominate the game if they play to their potential. That's what I want to see.
FSU is King Claudius to UF's Hamlet. The time is out of joint. It us up to you to set it right.
I might not ever say this again: Go Gators! I hope you run it down their throat and put J on his arse all day.

Nah. I think they've laid all that to rest with Muschamp and want to see him throw some Zook shade at FSU. Best rivalry ammo ever.

my pt is, how much stock do you really put in this game? The outcome arguably has bigger implications for other teams. What I see on your board are posts about the next HC and women's volleyball, etc.

All four major contenders for the SEC title should want FSU to go down. UGA, to validate their horrid loss and improve their rather remote chances at the playoffs. Missouri because they spanked UF and it improves their rather remote chance at the playoff. Mississippi State, for obvious reasons. And Bama because they also spanked UF and it looks good on their resume and could potentially improve their extremely remote chance of getting into the playoff if they beat Auburn but lose a close SECCG.
All of those remote chances for a 2 win SEC champion to get in depend on other pieces falling into place, but without a UF win over FSU, they have pretty much no chance because FSU will be taking up a spot in the playoff and the Florida win (or loss) won't make the schedules of the other teams look any better.
