He is an Aussie. He needs to gain some weight but I like his potential.

ETA- Atewe doesn't need surgery. No timetable on his return.

He is a Barbee recruit. What do you really expect? Since he is a Barbee recruit, he will probably be gone by the end of next year; so we have that going for us.

Dudes a true freshman from another country playing in his 2nd game. Give him a break.. Is this really what this site is gonna be like in hoops season?

If you don't know who he is take some damn interest in following the team and find out yourself.

He can shoot. Unfortunately he really didn't get it going against Colorado. He had a good game against Milwaukee.

He's supposed to be a lights out shooter but we haven't seen it yet. Hopefully he can get something going.

Granger embarrasses himself all on his own. Purchase is a bit awkward, but that's heavily due to the more physical way basketball is played in America. When the ball is in his hands, he knows what he's doing and looks smooth. I think he's just thinking too much and stumbling around (literally and figuratively) a bit. Purchase will be fine.

Defensively, he's played well despite being an undersized 4 (6'8 and only 198lbs according to AU bio). When Reed comes in, playing as a 3 with Bowers and Reed would be a formidable bunch. I'm not sure about Reed, but the other 2 definitely are athletic guys who fit into Pearl's scheme.

I like Purchas . I believe he will be a solid contributor by the time he is a JR/SR.

He is way way better than Granger

He is a scrappy player and I like his effort.

You do realize summer is approaching in his native land. Imagine a black bear getting ready to hibernate and suddenly being transported to Miami.

Same thing for Purchase.

I agree that purchase will be solid in a year or two. I roster should improve to a point where he is always a role player.

Granger makes some bad decisions with the ball, but is a much more athletic than purchase at the moment.

This is going to be a very bipolar team this season. Bunch of 1st year guys with a new coach. They have some pieces and will add a Big in January. If some of them can get their shots grooved by then, and they play some Defense, they should win some games along the way. We get a huge upgrade going into next year, and that will begin the real 'Pearl Era' IMO.

lol I was going to start a thread too. Dude looks awkward as hell on the court. He is not ready for big boy basketball. Needs to be processed ASAP he runs like a new born giraffe Barbee's laughing somewhere right now

He's a 6'10" Stretch 4 with deep range, good passing skills and a mean streak.

Dude has serious pro potential.

That would be fitting since our fanbase is bipolar too. Game thread the other night was suggesting we sign a few Mtn Brook kids because we can't shoot but then we want to process one of the best shooters we have because he doesn't run and jump like Lebron James. If some of you were in charge we would have processed Chris Denson after his freshman year(he was awful in case you don't remember) and he turned out to be a pretty solid player his Jr and Sr year. Purchase needed to RS this season to build his body but was forced to play early due to injuries and suspensions. He will be much better when he gains some weight/strength and experience.

Mason has a high ankle sprain. I won't be shocked to see him play Fri night but it's going to be into Mid January before he is back to 100%.

ETA: The curse is still alive and well
