Alabama was the better team last year - but lost with some boneheaded coaching mistakes and on an outstanding play at the end. I don't even think the melt would be that bad, unless it ends with another great play at the end.

I truly think Auburn is still a great team . . .

There were no boneheaded coaching decisions in that game. There were some coaching decisions that were the wrong decision, and this is evident in hindsight.

There were no "boneheads" on either coaching staff, nor will there be this time around.

We lost so I can't say we were the better team...

However, in reply to your question, since you're basing who's better by offense...Bama's offensive game stats were better than Auburn's that game (we outgained 'em by just over 100 yards)...

Actually the late game 4th&1 was a coaching mistake. I'd bet my paycheck that Saban thought it was only 1-2 feet versus a full yard. I saw him look at it (refs foot) and walk off before ball was placed. I think he would have kicked it if he knew that. Could have been the difference. Of course we could have missed the kick too but he made the decision on bad info.
