Gonna be up there overnight tonight for work with a fairly young professional crowd. Don't want to be in the middle of college bars, but can be if that's the only options. Wondered what are the best options in middle of downtown to catch a brewsky and hang out.

Market Square is your best bet. Suttree's High Grav Tavern, Preservation Pub, Scruffy City Hall all decent places to drink. There are also some good restaurants there.
Also, the Old City is fun. Barley's, Jig and Reel, etc. Some good bars down there. The only one places I wouldn't go are Southbound and NV...but those aren't my scene.
Edit: I think Pres Pub and Barley's would be the venues to have live music in the middle of the week if that is your thing. Not sure if any acts are scheduled though.
