Big week for a big OL out of Petal, MS....

4*/5* Javon Patterson is announcing on Thursday at 10 AM. His finalists are Auburn, Ole Miss, and Mississippi State. Has looked like the Rebels for a long time now, but anything can happen in recruiting, especially w/ Auburn involved. He is an early enrollee, btw so getting him in there for the spring means he'll likely contribute a lot next year.

I think the Auburn guy on 247 sports has already crystal balled him to Ole Miss. The comments about not knowing what is going to happen with Auburn invoved is a classic case of people seeing what they want to see. Auburn has only gotten about 2 players from the state of Mississippi in the last decade. And we have tried on Tony Connor, Jamal Peters, and several other players

How late were y'all in the game with Connor? I remember Alabama was the heavy competition while State was delusional thinking they had any shot. I may just be forgetting y'all due to how hectic the recruiting season was, but I don't remember y'all being a factor with TC.

I got Conner mixed up with CJ Hampton. The latter actually visited Auburn for the Ole Miss game last year. Some people thought we might have a chance with him at the time, but I don't think we were much of a factor in the end

Y'all were a little more of a factor there, but it was again a Bama/OM battle pretty much the entire way. I'm not gonna lie, I always feel uneasy when battling y'all for recruits.
