Nothing to update. Had some recruits at the game working on him hard but he will still take his official to Florida State and VTech and then decide in December. Looks to be a virtual toss up.

Only thing I've seen so far is Rusty Mansell reaffirming his CB for Sweat to UGA. Feels very confident.

Otherwise, Sweat has and probably will continue to play everything close to the vest. Rare to get info from him.

Nothing seems to indicate that hes favoring any one school.

Its either Vatech, FSU, or UGA. Its going to come down to the official visits and I haven't heard anything from our guys that hes a strong lean anywhere.

I'm not sure if we'll ever hear anything before NSD. Other than our main 247 guy CB'ing him to UGA before his visit and affirming his decision after the visit, Sweat has been virtually silent for this entire process.

He's an EE. He'll likely decide in the week after his visit to VT

Defensive end Josh Sweat (Chesapeake, Va./Oscar Smith) plans to announce his college choice next Wednesday December 10.

Sweat is still considering Florida State, Ohio State, Oregon, Georgia and Virginia Tech.

Apparently he is coming to Oregon now. I thought we had a snowflake's chance in hell. The fact that he is tripping to Oregon is huge.

Right now we have Carlberg (6'7" 290), Kaumatule (6'5" 290) at DE and Rex Manu is all but wrapped up at NT (6'3" 290). I think all three will graduate at 17 and are really young for their class. That's a lot of beef to hold off OL and let a guy like Sweat at our OLB "drop end" spot roam and wreak havoc. One can only dream. That, and we are in it at the end with Houston and Durant at ILB. This could be one helluva front seven on defense for this class.

He announces on Wednesday and has taken officials and has had or will have in home visits from the top 3 schools (UGA, OSU, VT). I don't want to say never in recruiting but it might be too little too late for oregon. You never know, though.

I'm sure he dropped because of his injury. Happens to kids all the time.

It sound like Tech/FSU are the teams to beat. However, the VATech people are saying we are a legitimate dark horse. They think it's a VaTech vs FSU battle (UGA and tOSU are on the outside) with Oregon having the potential to be in the mix. Anyway, I am not getting my hopes up. Kids across the country and Mom wants him at home - those don't swing your way that often.

While I think he will pick VT in the end, we have just as good of a shot as Florida State. A lot moreso than OSU. I know we had a bunch of coaches visiting him last night and that he had a great time with his family on our visit for Auburn weekend. Just seems that distance might play more of a factor in this situation than most.
