Under Meyer 30 for six years.

Under Muschamp it's been 16 for almost four.

And if we count the punches thrown in the Vanderbilt game.

I'm not getting sucked further into this eulogy type "he was a good guy" trope.

frick him, good riddance.

Yea I don't understand the animus for the guy at a personal level, he didn't win enough and that's reason to be fired but not to hate him. Pinkel is a pretty horrid gameday-game manager and has made some very questionable personnel decisions, along with his famous DUI, but I certainly don't hate the guy.

I'm happy that we're getting a new coach, but I hope Muschamp does well wherever he goes.

I think the difference here is Muschamp punished his players. In his first year he kicked possibly our best Corner off the team before the season started. I agree gameday discipline needed work never really liked the whole trash talking while getting beat approach our players have.

Yeah, he did it when we were pretty good at DB to begin with. We had a lot of talent on the team when he did that.

Antonio Morrison should have been on his way home after throwing what, five punches at a Vandy player -- a team that's not even competitive in the SEC.

And we seem to have one of these thug penalties once a game often by the same players (Cummings). He did the same thing with Orr, just a lot of posturing.

I get that it's hard to be consistent, but he let some pretty crazy shite go when he needed players.

Bob stoops! Number one qualification: Won NC and has UF ties! Other than Spurrier and Meyer no one can say that.

Also, a defensive coach who has fielded quality offenses and multiple award winning QBs. Can put points on the board. Only had 3 seasons with less than 10 wins (8, 7, 8). Never missed a bowl game, good recruiter.

Send a blank check and see what happens.

Durkin or Roper would be my guess.

Huh? Muschamp was an enraged lunatic on the sidelines. The guy was totally out of control, ready to burst a gasket. I think his irrational behavior made our players play tight at times, afraid to make mistakes. I keep hearing people say how much of a good guy he is but nothing from his antics say so?

The game that made me know I wanted Muschamp gone was the Sugar Bowl game against Louisville. Our players were totally out of control, prancing around like peacocks, totally embarrassing. We've been pathetic ever since.

I'm sure we will see him sticking it to us at USC, Alabama or Georgia real soon. I'm hoping he goes to the NFL or somewhere far from the SEC.

The guy will end up hurting UF no matter what sidelines he's on.

I've had run-ins with him and his staff over the years as have dozens of my former students, several having worked a lot with him while they were attached to the UAA. All of us liked dealing with him and the other coaches. As I've mentioned before, Muschamp used to pop up over in my building from time to time just to say hello and chat up grad students slaving away during reading days/exam week. He was pretty open with his time around campus and Gainesville when he wasn't working. That is why the serious money and Foley had such a hard time letting him go this year; like damned near everyone else who ever had to work with him in Gainesville, they liked him a lot.

I get the impression that no amount of evidence to the contrary will sway you from your carefully considered opinion made from sporadic scenes from the sidelines, but for the rest here who may be on the fence, there are my two cents.

He did need to go, maybe for him as much as us. This hole was just getting deeper. But he is damn sure a good guy.

Wherever Muschamp goes I wish him fair winds and following seas. But I hope he doesn't go to FSU or an SEC team. Auburn or A&M with a Muschamp type defense is scary.

Thank God there's a few people with sense on here. Our team looked unbelievably stupid, thuggish and somehow managed to lose while doing so. The guy was insane and was a laughing stock to the rest of the SEC after his one good year -- where we shite the bed against a Louisville team we outclassed in every facet of the game.

The rest of the conference wants us to keep him, saying "keep him forever" because he's just a flat out miserable failure at Florida, on, around and off the field. If wanting a cool, level-headed coach with sensible reactions makes me soft, I'll go ahead and be soft.

Spurrier threw tantrums, but they were funny. Muschamp throws tantrums and you wonder if he's on his way to a stroke.

While I dislike the trashtalking and dumb penalties this team racks up, this^ is pretty subjective. If he had won, I doubt it would be much of an issue.

That's the whole frickin' point is that he flat out doesn't win.

He loses, and our players go around acting like they're a hot item looking retarded losing to teams like Georgia Southern and it hasn't changed.

Winning, losing, they have an unwarranted swagger.

Trashtalking while you're ahead is one thing, and stupid if it causes penalties.

Trashtalking when you're losing is a whole level of uncontrolled stupidity.

Spurrier's tantrums are funny because they are warranted?
