Don't think I know what it is.

Is this a central/coastal Southern thing?

Pretty sure they're all typically southern dishes. You should know about puddin corn though....

Pudding corn (aka Puddin' Corn, Corn Pudding, Hoppy Glop, Corn Mash, Country Pudding) is a gelatinous food product prepared from stewed corn, water, any of various thickening agents, and optional additional flavoring or texturing ingredients, typically used as a food staple in rural communities in the South United States, especially in Appalachia.

I'm from North Alabama and relocated to WNC a few years ago. Not really sure what you'd call the Tennessee Valley but it ain't Appalachia.

Me, too, and we have it every Thanksgiving and Christmas. Don't know why we don't eat it more than that because it's so good.

We always had cornbread dressing. Closest corn dish I can remember. Maybe I just have a bad memory.
