Mizzou v. Arky Rivalry??? Corporate naming doesn't make it so. Thoughts?

This "rivalry" thing is totally contrived. Both states are basically like 1st cousins and just kinda get along with each other. It's like when you are at a family reunion in lets say.. Branson, and that cousin (Mizzou) that went to college but dropped out 1 semester short of graduating who is a now paralegal in a smallish city but his parents told the rest of the family he is the best defense attorney in "the city" that hasn't been to a reunion in 10 years comes this year in his 9 year old Porsche he just bought to in time to drive to the reunion dressed in his best JC Penney suit (no tie of course) holding a Sam Adams beer with a big haired, breast job girlfriend on his arm and thinks the rest of the family are complete hicks and thinks "why am I here". (Arkansas) That cousin at the reunion that nobody in the family really ever expected much out of growing up because "he can't help the way he was raised". He pulls up in his lifted 2000 Dodge Ram 4x4 1 ton dually diesel with the dual 6" chrome exhaust pipes sticking up through the bed, blowin' black smoke with his 3 foot wide Razorback decal on the back window and stars 'n bars front license plate. Climbs out holding his Busch beer, Skoal in lip with his Molly Hatchet t-shirt and jorts, confederate durag and cowboy boots on. His woman is au' naturale with BIG hair, skin tight middrif t-shirt (no bra) and daisy dukes. The cousins see each other at a distance, walk up to each other and stare at each other for a moment, suddenly Mizzou realizes who he really is and they hug, put their arm around the other and run over to the beer cooler and get drunk and talk about crazy shite they did growing up. Mizzou and Arky are more family than rivals. Blood is thicker than water and you can't just make up a rivalry out of thin air. Corporate money or not.
BTW: For those that think this is too long. Hold your thoughts. Don't give a shite.

I was gonna say something sarcastic. But I have lots of family in Arkansas. That was kind of funny and true.

doesn't matter... Indiana

not bad at all even if Mizzou gets to wear the ultra snazzy JC Penney suit.
Speaking of, I have a real reunion that weekend and it's gonna be entertaining for sure- a few lawyers, doctor, regular folks and a contingent of Jerry Springer types.

It didn't feel like family when we took Mike away from you.

Well if Indiana can beat Mizzou, you guys better not struggle with Mizzou. I mean you are waaaaay better than Indiana, right??...or maybe Mizzou just over looked Indiana.

I liked watching them then but they are better off without him. Entertaining Bball but will never win championships.

It is true. Some people probably think I was just making this shite up.

Were you at our last reunion.

My only problem with your premise is that it as an Arky fan I'm not the one wearing the snazzy Jock Pennay's suit (sounds classy and upscale that way and darn it, our states are all about being classy.)

They could have at least made the name better while they were at it.

Don't get your reference. Louisville/Pitino actually plays defense.

Dodge Ram 4x4s are fine automobiles. 1500 or 2500, either way.
Yeah, there is not a shred of animosity between the two states. Arkansas people are Cardinals fans (with lots of Royals fans in NWA).
The rivalry name is ghey. You know they are just waiting to announce a trophy, too.
