Did anyone watch Texas vs WVU? Did Texas actually play well or did WVU just suck. I saw that and had a glimmer of hope that Texas could beat TCU.

I don't see how Texas has ANY shot against TCU.

Its why they play the game though...

I was couch bound and sick all weekend so recorded and watched everything. WV did suck it up, but Texas also looked a lot better. Very similar to LSU taking a while to find their identity to get things rolling.

I don't have high hopes, but Texas does have the kids and ability to pull an upset and win a game they shouldn't. TCU has a terrible defense, so anything is possible if they win the turn over battle.

Combine that with Texas actually having talent even it is under performing. Big if will be Baylor/OSU since these teams will still be out there with 1 loss

1-FSU
2-Oregon
3-Baylor
4-Ohio State

I respected the committee a lot when they put a two loss Ole Miss above a 1 loss Ohio state the previous week, but now they put a 1 loss Ohio state ahead for beating MSU? We have more quality wins...

They have 1 loss and just beat a top 10 team. We have two losses and one top 10 win. We've lost to the other good teams we've played.

I'll surprise even that the Baylor won't do.

It take.

There's no way the Committee allows two teams from the same conference in this season.

But we lost to Auburn who lost to TAMU the very next week. It sucks but it's the truth. 2 losses are worst than 1 loss in almost every instance now.

Speaking of the Buckeyes loss. The committee also takes into account that that was the first real game their RS freshman QB who was thrown into action played because their starter had a season ending injury, and it wasn't like they got torched.

Does the committee also take into account that it was at home against a team that is currently last place in their division in one of the weaker power 5 conferences?

It's all relevant. VT was trending up at that part in the season.

Same as when State beat TAMU. They were "great" then. Now they suck. But at the time it was a good win. Still looks that way in the committees eyes because it us relevant to the time in the season. Just my opinion.

But wasn't that one of the criteria that is not supposed to influence them? The time of the year a loss or win happens? When you compare Texas A&M to Va Tech side by side, it's not even close. I know you weren't really trying to do that and just using it as an example, but Va Tech is 4-5 with two FBS wins over North Carolina and Ohio State. So a loss to Va Tech at home should be much more damning than a loss to Texas A&M at home.

ETA: I'm seeing you were comparing 1 loss to 2 losses, but I still think a Va Tech loss should carry a lot more weight for OSU especially when at this time they only have one quality win.
