Highest ranked I believe, which would probably be bama in that scenario.

It would come down to the SEC records of each team's East opponents. That looked pretty good for Auburn with UGA and USC before last weekend, AU would still be in pretty good shape though.

Depends on how each teams east opponents do

LSU needs Kentucky and Florida to keep winning

That went away when the BCS went away.

So basically whoever played the worse East teams? Infallible way to give away a title.

Really? Seems like they would just change it to Playoff ranking instead of BCS or something.

It'd be whoever played the best, not the worst.

Tie Analysis Here

If @LSU beats Bama, Auburn beats @UGA, @Bama beats State/Auburn, @Ole Miss beats MSU, it is a 5-way tie and comes down to SEC East opponents combined record. If UGA beats Auburn and all the other games stay the same, LSU wins the West in the 4-way tie-between LSU-OM-Bama-State by virtue of record against the other 3..

quote:

Scenario 2: 5-way tie LSU, Ole Miss, MSU, Bama, Auburn

- Tiebreaker falls to combined SEC record of the team’s cross-divisional opponents

Current cross-divisional standings:
6-7 Auburn (UGA/USCe)
5-7 LSU (UF/UK)
4-7 Bama (UF/UT)
2-9 MSU (UK/Vandy)
1-10 Ole Miss (UT/Vandy)

Don't know about 5 way ties, but if all home teams win, with the exception of Ole Miss vs. Arkansas, then Ole Miss goes to Atlanta. Go Home Teams!!

If:

@LSU beats Bama
@UGA beats Auburn
@Bama beats State
@Bama beats Auburn
@OM beats State

...LSU wins the West.

Bama, LSU, OM, State would all finish 6-2 (Auburn out at 5-3)....Comes down to record against the tied teams:

LSU 2-1
OM 2-1
Bama 1-2
State 1-2

Bama/State eliminated, comes down to head-to-head LSU-OM....LSU wins the West. This scenario has been discussed quite a bit on the TR, as it is LSU's cleanest/easiest path to winning the West.

If Auburn wins the UGA game and all the other results stay the same, then it becomes a 5-way tie and that's when SEC East opponent records come into play. OM/State will have no chance of winning a 5-way tie (due to Vandy), it will come down to either Auburn/Bama/LSU depending upon how their East opponents do relative to one another.

We need a few miracles.

State (lose 2; 6-2):
@Bama - L
Vandy - W
@OM - L

LSU (lose 1; 5-3):
Bama - W
@Ark - L
@A&M - W

Auburn (lose 2; 5-3):
A&M - W
@Georgia - L
@Bama - L

Bama (lose 1; 6-2):
@LSU - L
State - W
Auburn - W

Highest Ranked team from final regular season BCS poll.
Since that no longer exists, likely playoff committee
poll.
