I find this qoute kind of disturbing in regards to the team's mindset...

quote:

We know that we’re going to need a little help, but it’s not going to matter if we don’t do our part,” senior cornerback Damian Swann said on Monday. “We know how to lose, [so] we know how to regroup.”

I'd like I didn't come to georgia to lose now we are going to go out and do everything we can to right the ship and win every game in front of us!

Other teams keep their defensive players away from media because they might say something bad.

We need to keep ours away from the media because they keep saying things like this.

This team needs a Shawn Williams in the worst way.

That is exactly what I was thinking... It's almost as if the team doesn't have the fight left in it - no matter how much or what the coaches do.

It has to do with the fact that Richt and Mcgarity didn't defend Gurley from NCAA while Jimbo Fishee defends Winston with his career on the line... lets see who would I be more motivated to play for...

Yeah, that's a no brainer. I'm going to get lots of TV exposure plus Nattys.....and I can do whatever I want. Coach Jimbo is like that cool uncle we all have. What's not to like?

Fact? Let's see, how can you defend what he did? It was leaked that he did by the dealer which garnered attention...that was being talked about far before it became headline news.

So, you are saying that UGA should have kept playing him even though it was a given as to what he did? Quit trying to pass the blame on what gurley did just because you got your twat ruffled.

All it meant was we lost earlier this year and came back strong. You guys are hunting hard to be negative.

I am surprised by the negativity and by the abundance of alters that come out after a loss. If you have something to say, say it as who you are.
( not specific to this thread, but in general)

Truth. There has been an unusual increase in alter activity after this one...

The fact that Senior DB, Damian Swann, would say something like this speaks volumes about the leadership of this team.

No. It's the opposite of that.

At least, for those of us with reading comprehension skills better than a third-grader.......

Christ...

Just reading that from one of our most veteran players makes me sick. You're never supposed to "know" how to lose in sports..

So, what should he have said?

Nothing. They don't deserve to speak to the media.

I have no doubt what he was saying was:

"We have had disappointing losses in the past, and know how, as a team, to learn from them, put them behind us, and come out and play the next game to win. We will not let a loss keep us down or cause us to lose focus, we will rebound and stick to our personal and team goals"

But he is not trained to be a speaker, so he says it in simpler terms.

Which is why players who are not well spoken should avoid the media.
