Kendrick back to 2nd string

Per 3&C insider. Kendrick graded out as our second best lineman vs Alabama and led the unit in knockdowns by a wide margin. Mahoney tried to put Kendrick with the 1's yesterday and Butch overruled him.

The Kendrick situation is an odd one. He did seem to play well Saturday. Hubbs seemed to indicate that it is not a behavioral/disciplinary situation as has the insider.
You have to think something is up there though, as imo he is clearly one of the best 5.
Sawyers situation is not surprising.

I'd really like to know the reasoning about this Kendrick situation. I certainly hope he's not benching him to make PT look more appealing for Drew Richmond like some on there speculated.
Sucks about Sawyers, if that happens. I was pretty pumped when we flipped him.

It's incredibly frustrating but I also understand butch just can't come out and say, "well he's a thug POS" or somethin like that

What is the Sawyers situation? This is the first I've heard of it.
As for Kendrick, it may be a lineup issue. Putting him in might send Gilliam back to the bench and I don't think coaches want that. Gilliam provides leadership on that OL because everyone respects him.

Could be a Marlin Lane type situation. Lane's was kinda never really revealed until this year and it wound up being he just couldn't get his personal stuff together, was unfocused, but mainly just wasn't loving football the way he needed too (I believe Lane said something like he'd lost his love for the game and needed to find it again). Just the normal stuff we all go through from time to time that weighs you down and effects things.

Both Hubbs and the insider have said it is not any kind of disciplinary issue, tardiness, etc.
3&C insider indicated it was "circumstances outside of Kendrick's control". He did say Butch has a reason for it, but didn't elaborate.
That is in line with everything I've heard as well. I have a few people that I talk to every once in a while and I asked them about it a month or so ago and they said Kendrick is very high character, well liked on the team, a good student, etc. so I can't imagine it's disciplinary related.
As for Sawyers 3&C insider didn't elaborate. I think he has been hushed a little bit by the AD after the Worley injury was leaked by someone on VQ.

Well then it must be something like disrupting the rest of the Oline with him in, may be they just don't gel together with him in there or he may not have the grasp of the offense we all assume he does, who knows

I cannot figure it out. Mahoney said he is the smartest o-lineman they have last week.

So he's trying to sell PT to Richmond or another recruit? Or he's made promises to the other linemen? Neither is good IMO

Yeah someone posted on another board that Coleman Thomas' mom posted on Facebook about how much she loves CBJ and how he has been keeping all of his promises.
I think it could be related to that as well as maybe selling Richmond/Sweet on how bad they need an OT.

What exactly is Worley's injury? I heard the rumor of torn labrum but I've heard that wasn't the case but he does have some sort of shoulder injury.

IM sure I've only read the same stuff you've read, shoulder likely a labrum injury.
My personal belief (I have no sources) is that he has a torn labrum and is out until at least a bowl game if we have one, all this talk is part butch trying to be deceptive, part hoping for a miracle recovery, part trying to give a senior who has busted his arse for you every chance to recover and play

Kendrick looked like he played with an edge and was pushing back on Alabama players after the whistle, etc. last week.
