I know so much depends on what the other teams do and we really don't understand the workings of this new committee (I'm not questioning their validity at all)but where do you think ole miss would land if they lose to Auburn and the other way around? Thanks!!

Behind LSU, where they belong.

I guess it depends on how badly either team wins. I heard something the other night that the committee would also take into account "human variables" such as if a team had to play a backup for a star player (i.e. Winston) in a game and other such stuff. I really don't understand how the rankings are derived. To end...I think Ole Miss would fall more by losing at home than on the road (if the game was at Auburn)but then again, that didn't seem to be the case after last weekend.

Auburn loses and drops to about 9.
OM loses and probably drops to 10 or 11.

But who knows?

I think they would be ahead of Notre Dame.

Auburn's 41-7 win over us (LSU) has to count in their favor seeing as we're coming on lately but I wish the committee could give some weight to how we played at beginning compared to now. I'm not saying we'd beat Auburn if played again, but it would be a more respectable game.

As an Auburn fan you of all people should realize that one early beat down doesn't define your team later in the year. Right?

We're not taking your side now after the last year of listening to how much a early beat down should matter.

I will say one game doesn't prove how good or bad a team is. Multiple games do though.

You're still thinking in terms of the normal coaches and AP poll.

If OM was to lose we would fall below all P5 1 loss schools and most likely down to like the 15-20 range.

I believe the committee will penalize and reward teams much more than the coaches and AP ever did.

According to the chairman/ director of te committe or whatever they call him... Each week they start with a blank slate. Ranking one week are reflected on the previous week. A loss by either team could put them anywhere. A loss by Auburn won't be as devastating as a loss to Ole Miss will be imo

Doubt it. Auburn would beat down LSU again

I just don't see that many 1 loss teams losing a 2nd game. Two losses in the playoff is a death nail without some miracle. I suppose a 2 loss SEC team could still fight its way back to the SECCG but I believe that's the only way and I doubt even then they would be in the top 4.

Not if you combine death knell and nail in the coffin. That's death nail.
