I guess the committee don't give a frick about conference champions.

The interesting scenario would be Ole Miss winning out and finish 11-1, UA finish 11-1, AU finish 9-3 with a win over UGA which would probably drop a 2 loss UGA to maybe around 15 or 16. We would probably be sitting at 3 while watching #2 Ole Miss play #15 UGA. UGA wins the SEC but with 2 losses maybe finish around 8-10. UA now #2 in the poll goes to playoff as only SEC team and the SEC Champ does not. The Rant would be fun for a year.

Who knows how they will feel until there are champions

Agree...this could have a huge impact since we won't know who the conference champions are until just before the final CFP poll...

They referenced "body of work" multiple times during the telecast.

Some conference champions won't have much resume to stand on in that regard.

IMO it's like the committee called and asked Saban where he'd like to be ranked.

Among other things, what we learned about the committee is that they regard the Big Ten and Notre Dame as dog shite.

I've been trying to tell people this for the last two weeks because of them picking both Oklahoma and Texas in their mock vote from 2008 and leaving out Big 10 champion Penn State, but lots of people refused to believe it. They told the world back in August that SOS trumps a conference championship, but a lot of people either weren't paying attention or just refused to believe them.

It shows that they are at least willing to put in more than one SEC team

I was thinking the exact opposite. By having State , Ole Miss and Auburn where there are and with State still having both Ole Miss and Auburn left to play along with # 6 Bama not to mention the winner of the West having to play Georgia in Atlanta the likelihood of 2 SEC teams seems slim. I'd bet it will be the SEC champ, Oregon, Florida State and a team like TCU, Notre Dame, Mich State .

If Bama loses one more they are out. If Auburn losses one more they are out. If Ole Miss loses one more they are out. So either Aub or Ole Miss will be a 2 loss team after this weekend and will be out of the picture. If Bama loses one more they are out. State has the best shot at being in the final four since they are the only undefeated SEC team.

While I agree with you, it's hard to say based on this first poll since there are no conference champs to consider...outside of possibly the Big 12, we won't know the conference champions until just prior to the last poll...only then will we know how much impact that'll have on the committee...

Yes, but what you do know is that, based on the fact that Sparty is #7, while the only other Big 10 teams ranked are Nebraska at 15 and Ohio State at 16, the committee regards the Big Ten pretty much as crap. So what if Sparty beats Ohio State and then Nebraska in the B1GCG? It won't help their resume at all relative to what the SEC teams can do for themselves by winning.
