Since it is obvious that the SEC West is hands and feet above the East.

Them wouldn't fans of west teams want the divisions? Easy win right?

After spurrier becomes commissioner, that's the first thing to happen

But to answer the OP, no. Everything is cyclical.

No doubt the West is better than East, but this weekend's games proved that it's not "hands and feet above the East."

I don't think the difference in the two divisions is as great as some people thought.

No because the SEC needs the favorite to win that game so they can win the National title. That's why we want a cupcake game coming from the East.

I wish they would take the top two teams, regardless of location and allow them to play for the conference championship. The problem with that is that the Iron Bowl is often these two teams. Neither AU or Bama would want to play again the next week.

it would allow teams to schedule however they wanted though as long as it was 8-9 games in conference.

Well that's a stupid answer. If you do away with divisions, then you get the two best teams every year. It wouldn't matter what cycle we are on.

should we have done away with it in the 90s when the east was clearly better than the west?

That would be awesome if it happened. Seriously.

No it isn't. Maybe a couple times in the past 20 or so years (2010 and 2013)

I mean if you keep the divisions the East will eventually be better than the West. It would be stupid to have no divisions unless you were gonna play everyone in the conference.

The West could lose the SECCG this year. What makes you think it'll be a cupcake game?

No. The power will balance back out soon enough. Florida and Tennessee will be back. When? I don't know. But move Auburn east and Mizzou west.
