More running and less passing equals easier wins @USC and vs Vandy.

The supporting cast this year is terrible beyond the RB'S simple as that.

yea that sounds like "pinkelspeak", throw the Oline and receivers under the bus even though much of the problem with Mauk has been Mauk and not them.

I just read a story about Florida's WR troubles and it begins by saying Muschamp will never criticize his QB's.

Maybe some coaches are just from that school that you never openly criticize your QB. But other position players are a different story. Pinkel referenced going through the same thing while an asst. coach at Washington. He's old school, he's going to stick with Mauk, all we can hope for is small improvements every week.

I'm just 'new school' enough to think it might be demoralizing to the team to keep hearing about how they are the problem and the guy who is at the heart of the problem,,, isn't.

Mauk just doesn't look like the archtypical "pinkel" QB,, a guy who can chip away at the D with short 4 -5 yard passes. he's more the gunslinger, all or nothing sort of cowboy that doesn't fit pinkels game plan, and I don't see Pinks as being better than anyone else at fitting a round peg in a square whole. He's not really a puzzle solver or thinker, his 'we have a system in place... we do what we do(follow our plan)' doesn't inspire me to think he's gonna figure this out any time soon.

Everyone on the team is aware of Mauk's struggles. No coaches are convincing anyone that Mauk isn't part of the problem.

But it isn't just mauk. WRs keep dropping passes. OL has been better the last 2 weeks but overall they have been terrible this year. Henson hasn't helped by continually calling pass plays to allow Mauk to fail when the running game has been just fine at churning out first downs when given a chance.

but it is the message coming from Pinkel.

I'm not even suggesting all of his problems are his fault, again I'm not convinced this staff understands how to utilize him the best, and that's not really his fault.

have to say as much as I enjoyed Henson as a breath of fresh air last year, this year is almost the exact opposite. His cutsey TE in motion to the middle running play is much like the jet sweep, gets really old really fast. I guess it's possible he's doing about all he can with what he has to work with, but this offense just looks bad much of the time.

Oh and btw, to state the obvious, without Marcus Murphy and Russel Hansbrough, this team-offense is absolute toast.
