Which is a more impressive accomplishment this year, winning the SEC or national championship?
If the national camp is also the SEC Champ coming from the SEC West then the national champ. If it's anybody else then winning the SEC is more impressive.

I think winning the SEC from the West this year is much more impressive. To do so, a West team will likely have to play 4 top 10 teams and win 3, including navigating the rest of their SEC schedule which will likely include another ranked team or two.

To win the playoff, you have to win 2 games and probably just one against another SEC team. A team like FSU can get in the playoff and win it with a MUCH easier road than a West team winning the SEC this year - hence a less impressive accomplishment IMO.

But they would still have to beat the SEC team that made it through all that, which would still make them the best. It doesn't matter what road you take as long as you make it where you need to go.

I was saying the only way winning the natty is more impressive than winning the SEC is if the natty winner is from the SEC West who has to go through all the SEC West gauntlet plus win 2 playoff games. If anybody else outside the SEC West wins the natty then winning the SEC is more impressive. If UGA wins the SEC then the impressiveness of winning depends on if they beat AU. If they lose to AU then the debate will not matter because UGA will likely not get in the playoff with 2 losses and they would have won the SEC beating only 1 quality team. If they beat AU then winning the SEC would be slightly more impressive for UGA as in both cases they would have to beat 2 high quality teams.

I want it all. The West, the SECC and the MNC.

With option A you have a problem.

Notre Dame probably goes 11-1 and can argue they were cheated against FSU. FSU 13-0. Oregon could be 12-1. Kansas St/Baylor could be 12-1.

A 12-1 or 13-0 SEC team is in over somebody else there but a 11-1 SEC W team left out of the SECCG is out.

I still don't think the SEC Champ is a given since the SEC E could have a multiple loss team in there. UGA will at best be 10-2, Missouri could run the table and if they won the SECCG then the Champ is out. It could allow the West tie breaker loser to get in but that's a big risk.

It is if the SEC Champ only has 1 loss.

I hope we beat UGA but that's not a given byu any means. If they beat us they will highly likely be 11-1. If they win the SECCG after that then they're a lock for the playoffs.

If UGA accomplished that miracle of miracles then yes they go to the SECCG. If they lose, I could see Mizzou in the SECCG again despite they're nasty loss to UGA.

I don't. Mizzou will lose again. Likely 2 more times minimum.

It's not a given, but Uga is not as strong as some feel they are. Their QB is ok and only if he has time. Chubb/Gurley are the best they have and they are top tier. There defense is decent, but can be dominated if a team can get on a roll.

I would rather defend our SEC championship and lose in the playoffs than not go to Atlanta and win it all.

I'd rather win it all. The only game that matters is the last one.

It's possible but that team is bizzare. If they get it together they can do well against what they have left on their schedule. Unlikely? Probably. But possible in the East plus your only west opponents are A&M and Arkansas.

One thing about Georgia, and I do love to troll them if you haven't noticed, but from the Auburn game to the South Carolina game they went on a 3-3 run. That's with Gurley.

With Gurley and Chubb they lost to South Carolina.

And they allowed Arkansas, Tennessee and South Carolina to rack up 34 points on average per game. Those three teams are 2-10 in SEC play.

You can negate the Arky part of that point. UGA shut things down and just went through the motions plus had a lot of subs in after they went up 39-6 at half time. Their offense has gotten much better and balanced since their WRs finally got healthy. I think UGA is a lot better than they were when they played SCe and UT but time will tell. We can't let their front 7 dominate us like they have other teams recently allowing them to hide their weak secondary.

Allowing one or two Tds is going through the motions. Allowing four tds and having a bunch of short drives isn't.

Let's face it, the team that wins the SEC West is the true champ regardless. It sucks that teams can play a cupcake schedule and be considered great in the same breath as SEC West teams. The fact is there are 4 teams in the west that could beat UGA, FSU, ND and any one else in the nation on any given Saturday.

I really wish the BCS computers were picking the top 4. SEC fatigue will be strong this year.
