Seems very likely that the #1 seed will be located closer to Nola than west coast.. That will be a helluva time New Years Day for a couple of fan bases.. Hope the Tigers can slip as the 4 seed.

Los Angeles > New Orleans

Not as far as hosting a major sporting event.. Nola is the best venue in America for that due to ideal location of the Superdome and it being a great party town..

I did 2013 BCS game against ND.
South Beach was a lot of fun and overall it was a great 4 days there.
But on gameday it was a bit of a downer having to drive 45 minutes north for the game. Only to hang out in a parking lot all day.
Did sugar bowl last year. Gameday was a lot of fun going from the quarter to the stadium.

What if it's #1 Florida State vs. #4 LSU?

What if it is #1 Tulane vs. #4 ULL

Just saying. It's a complete hypothetical, but i've used this example on here before:
What if it was 1) Georgia 2) USC 3) Ohio State 4) LSU...
They have to send Ohio State and USC to Pasadena, which would force Georgia to play LSU in the Tigers' backyard. How is that fair? How is it avoidable?
In this scenario, would they re-seed it a little? Put LSU at #3 and Ohio State at #4? This is where it's a good thing that the human element comes into play. That way Georgia and USC could both play closer to home, without having to put the two higher seeds at any disadvantage.

Interesting thought process. They'd probably reseed it like you say. They should seed the top 2 teams and then let 1 pick the venue and the opponent between 3/4. I know that would never work but it would be more fair.

That would be an idea, but kind of hard to do like you said.

Yeah the committee already said they would rank the top 2 in order and send each to the nearest semi-final. 3 and 4 would not be set rankings, and they would send teams "away" to keep either from having a home field advantage. In your scenario, it would be UGA vs. Ohio St in NOLA (UGA "home" in NOLA) and USC vs LSU to preserve top seed home field advantages.

Meh. LSU fans would probably sell a lot of their tickets for a quick buck and Georgia would have more fans in the Superdome.

Prefer NO, except when hot & humid; not likely in January.

In that situation I'm hoping for a 2 or 3 seed. Playing in the Rose Bowl > playing in NOLA, and that is saying something because the Sugar Bowl is always fun.
