LSU proved that a late season loss doesn't omit one from title contention. So it's possible I guess.

It COULD happen. However I don't think it will. That would require both Ole Miss and Miss. St. being undefeated until the last week of the season. It's more likely in my mind that one of them loses since they face

Those are tricky games to predict 6 Ws
It would also require a very close match between the two to justify putting both in.

Just ask Alabama, who in addition proved that you don't even have to win your division much less your conference.

No offense landmass schools, but I'm guessing this would be a pretty bad scenario for the playoff. Two fairly small schools with fairly small fan bases. I think MSU has a little more going for it because of Dak. Ole Miss is obviously a great team, but there isn't much star power there to make Ole Miss that attractive.

I mean, that isn't even possible.
Whoever loses the Egg Bowl would not be ranked #2 over and undefeated Florida State (and FSU would have to be undefeated to make it at all).

Honestly, I'd enjoy watching those games.
Ole Miss: you'd better not frick it up and lose to FSU, or Danny Kannel will take over for Mike Slive and shut down SEC football and make us all watch incessant games of UVa- Wake Forest and NC State - Boston College.

I guess he forgot that State still has to play in Tuscaloosa, both Miss schools have the egg bowl, and whoever wins the West has to play probably UGA, who's no slouch.
Plus, with the judges presiding over Crab Rapula's COC hearing, it's 50/50 if he'll even be an FSU student in good standing by then (not to mention the fact that the committee could decide that cesspool of moral bankruptcy that now is FSU could give the committee reason to snub them altogether).
Why the hell do they even both with this kind of shite right now?
