Which is unlikely. Considering the comittee has made a point to specifically mention the importance of conference championships.
I promise you. ND at 11-1. Will get in over any 1 loss non Conf champ.
It's just that simple.

I think ND at 11-1 is close, but if AU knocks off UGA and Bama to end the year, it will be tough to deny.

What is simple is that everyone is just speculating and have no clue how this committee will select teams. Stop acting like you have it figured out...

eta: ok they have given a couple of clues, but only enough to cause all the discussion which is still all speculative in nature.

No it won't . It's about making money semi finals. And ND has the largest following by an enormous emount and draws Every media market worldwide.
No one else does.

For you to have FSU, Sec champ, ND, and OSU/Oregon.

They couldn't ask for anything better. The playoff is on its knees begging for them to win out.

I agree it's the most worrisome scenario for the SEC 2 team hopes. But it's only one of many scenarios, so if I'm Auburn or Alabama, I'm not too worried at this point.

pretty typical. We'll skull drag them, last year being so close was a fluke and everyone knows it.

You won that game because of a fluke.

Auburn can win out, but someone still has to know off MSU for you to get to Atlanta , then you have to win the game.

If we win out I don't think we need to go to Atlanta to be in the playoff. Nobody would be able to touch our resume.

I don't think we will get multiple teams in the playoff. For that to happen, though, it would take georgia to win out and beat an undefeated West team in the SECCG.....OR Ole Miss or Miss. State go into the Egg Bowl undefeated and the winner beat Georgia for the SECCG. What would REALLY make it interesting is for Georgia to face an undefeated West team in the SECCG and the loser of the Egg Bowl have only one loss....and that loss be VERY close. Three teams in the SEC with only one loss and Georgia winning the SECCG.

THAT would make it very, very tough.

However, I think the committee will do everything in their poser to only allow one team from the SEC in.

I see Notre dame, Florida State and possibly Michigan State getting in. They will do their best to get Notre Dame and Florida State in.

Seriously? We pay taxes for the benefits of a city. They don't come free. You can be a fan of any team you want, IMO. If you moved to Miami, would that mean you would have to become a UofM fan? But, then I wouldn't move to Miami, either!

If you don't think UGA would be favored in the GA Dome against either of the Mississippi schools you are crazy.
Even if they are undefeated? uGA doesn't always play well there. (i.e. 2012 SECCG, UGA vs. Boise St.)

You could have used a much better example than the 2012 SECCG. We played pretty well that game (except in stopping the run). But I haven't really come to expect much from you anyway

I expect there will be at least one 1-loss SEC team besides the SEC champion (whoever that is), so I doubt if AU-UGA will decide whether the SEC gets two teams in.

The AU-UGA loser will definitely be out of the hunt.

UGA would have to win the SECCG to get in, and I don't see them being able to do that.

Any of the big 4 in the West that win out will have a shot, even if another West team wins the SECC. The OM-MSU loser will have the best chance if that is their only loss (assuming no blow-out)

Three only one SEC team getting in this year and that's whoever wins the conference. FSU and ND more than likely win out. And either Oregon/Mich St/ OSU are getting the last spot.
I disagree. If Alabama wins out and still doesn't make it to the SECCG, they'll go. It would be unrealistic to think that the winner of 3 of the last 5 national championships wouldn't go, especially with wins over State and Auburn. SOS would put them in, if nothing else.

what odd examples.

Every SECCG we've played where we're the better team, we've dominated. Every time we've gone in with a lesser team, we've lost. We've only played one team that was our equivalent, and it came down to the last play.

I don't think OM or MSU are clearly better than us by the time december rolls around. We may lose, certainly, but I wouldn't be surprised in the least bit to be favored.

I can get why you don't respect us because we're in the East. But if we beat Auburn, why wouldn't you see us being able to win the SECCG? We play good defense, run the ball, and win the turnover battle. Other than last year, that's been the formula to win the conference. We've improved pretty consistently this year in both those aspects which sets up well for a good stretch run.

Because I think MSU, Ole Miss, and bammer are all better than UGA.

What evidence do you have to think otherwise?
