As most of you probably know by now, Archie Manning has stepped down from the Playoff Committee for the rest of this season due to health issues (knee surgery I believe)

What are the implications and how does this affect the rebels?

Unless they get someone who not only has a bias but is affected by that bias towards another conference then it doesn't affect us at all.

They aren't getting someone new. Staying at 12 this year then hoping Archie comes back next year. (At least what I read)

But I don't think it affects us one bit. I want us to take care of business this weekend then see their first public ballot.

He was the only real SEC guy of the 13. While he may not have been able to vote for Ole Miss, his absence will hurt the SEC as a whole.

Notre Dame already has many indirect supporters of the 12 so if they remain at 1 loss they are probably in. The B1G and PAC are also well represented so 1 loss teams from those pools will probably get in. SEC will probably get 1 team in, and if FSU continues to roll, they probably are in as well.

Of the Big 5, only the B12 may be on thin ice right now. No 1 loss teams left with big national followings.
