It was the best of teams, it was the worst of teams...it was the age of play-offs, it was the age of the Citrus Bowl...it was the epoch of belief, it was the epoch of derision...it was the season of light, it was the season of darkness...it was the Summer of hope, it was the Fall of despair...we had the championship before us, we had nothing before us...we were all going direct to Dallas, we were all going direct to Orlando...

Bama's season this year has thus far played out like a Dickens novel...kind of a slow start against West Virginia, although that looks like a quality win now...then a couple of games against less talented teams that didn't really clarify or define this team...next comes the Florida game where we look like world-beaters and lots of talking heads declare us as the best team in the nation...then the Ole Miss game, where we struggle a bit on both offense and defense, lose a close game, and people point to the chinks in our armor...and following a close win at Arkansas in a game that we could've easily lost, the talking heads declare us not play-off worthy and relegate us to the Citrus Bowl...now, after totally dismantling A&M in a blowout, some of those same experts have declared us the best team in the nation once again...

I'm gonna quit trying to analyze/figure out this team. I said before the A&M game that we could win by 20 or lose by 20 and that no outcome would surprise me...I was wrong. I was shocked at our total domination on both sides of the ball and completely flabbergasted at holding Hill to under 140 yards passing (especially after allowing the Arky QB nearly 250). And now we go into the Tennessee game and I absolutely have no clue as to how we'll do...while I think we'll win, I'm not 100% sure, but I'll be happy with a 1-point win...

With nearly half of the season played, this Bama team has been entertaining to watch, this Bama team has been frustrating to watch...but these kids are playing hard. From here on out, I'm just gonna jump on this rollercoaster and enjoy the ride, good or bad, championship or no championship...

so who are our best 7 Olineman and how do they shake out when the injury bug hits. 64 played good when 79 went down. If he is one of our best Oline does he see time at RG where it has been hit and miss.

Yeah, Grant Hill looked good filling in for Shepherd...think he might've played more/earlier if he hadn't been ill. I've heard D. Jackson is one of the best OL, but I think his high ankle sprain is still holdin' him back. This year's recruiting haul was stellar on the OL, but probably won't pay huge dividends, other than Robinson, till the next year or two...

Other than the starting 5, the next two of the best 7 would definitely be Grant Hill and Dom Jackson as of right now.

But in a few years guys like Casher and Hassenauer are gonna be crazy good.
