I've been thinking about the scenario. Is the point to get the best 4 teams in the playoff or is it to find the best team in college football?

If Georgia beats a #1 Mississippi State in the SEC championship, should both go to the playoffs? If the point is to find the best team, then why bring Mississippi State to the playoffs when they couldn't even win the conference? Is that a logical conclusion that the best team cannot be the second best in their conference?

Or should the playoffs just be the top 4 teams and let them duke it out in a brand new, 2 game season?

Your point has no merit. That is like saying the best JV team in the state Gould ply the best high school in the state because they both on in their perspective places.

The point of the playoff SHOULD be that the best 4 teams in college football are invited to prove they are THE best.

However the REAL point is of course like everything else in life: money, politics, etc.

Your point is valid.

Your post is nearly unreadable.
