Expansion teams: Would you have rather gone to another conference?

Most of you are probably good enough to be near the top of any other conference. All of you could probably win the ACC regularly for example. Does this tough year have you thinking about easier competition?

We did win the ACC. Then left.

Nah, happy where we are. We wouldn't have near the same facilities, talent, and environment if we weren't in the SEC.

Another conference? No.

Missouri will probably remain what they've always been: a middle of the pack team that contends for the division most years and for the conference title once in a blue moon.

The difference is being very good in a great league increases your perception. Our best years in the SEC could actually have us playing for a shot at the national title based on the extra boost the power of the SEC provides (see Mizzou 2013 and Mississippi State and Ole Miss this year). That would never happen in the XII of B1G. We'd have to go undefeated to even have a shot there.

It's better to be good, mediocre or even poor in a great league than almost great in a poor league.

We're fortunate we're in the SEC and we're fortunate we're in the East. Because of that we have a shot to be something more than we've been.

Should have listened to Bun B...Kenny 'Trill' sounds just ridiculous. After one game, you think you can adopt the moniker of a legend? GTFO

It kills me we haven't beaten them since the great depression.

Of course we've only played eight times since, but still.

As I left the stadium in 2011 you could really feel the shock. I believe the fans thought that would be the Cocks year. It will probably happen when you don't expect it. Maybe this year?

This would be a HELL of a year to do it.

Especially since we just lost one of our best defensive players to a hamstring injury.

I think the SEC will make Mizzou a better program in the future. With the right leadership and better recruiting Mizzou could be a consistent power as it is the only DI team in Missouri. Not saying it will happen, but I will say it would have never happened if we would have stood pat.

One very positive thing I will say about the SEC is that there is no doubt that as a conference they have the best and most passionate fans in college football. In the Big 12 there were many fan bases that weren't that great. My hope is this attitude will wear off on the Mizzou fan base like it appears to have with the South Carolina fans. I think the Arkansas fans were pretty intense before their move as were the Aggie fans.
