you understand he's not a top tier SEC QB he's a game manager,k you live with that.

bullshite.

Average SEC Qbs are still supposed to be able to hit receivers in the chest when they aren't under pressure and its not hard to know you have to put a little air under a fade route....you can't throw it through a defender.

If I remember correctly, the TN offense put up a decent average in ppg. I have not researched that.

My point with you though is that it would not matter who is OC. Brandon Allen sucks and I think he would be behind Treon Harris at FL.

If you watched their games you would have saw cheap points and yards gained when games didn't matter or against teams that didn't matter, the rest of the time it looked like Grimace shitting all over the field from the press box.

If i see him throw into bracket coverage while somebody else is running wide open i may punch my dog. It drives me nuts

It drives me crazy when he can pick up a few yards but instead elects to chuck it out of bounds. There have been several plays where he could run for 5 yards out of bounds and not get touched. Instead, he looks at his first receiver and if he's covered, he immediately throws the ball out of bounds.

Ok I agree with that. Any real chance we get a new OC after this year?

Or freaks out and throws it at the receivers feet on 3rd down ala the bama game.

Or the Auburn game when he slid on 3rd down and ended up being a half a yard short for the 1st down.

I thought we actually ran some pretty good route combos today but I just don't get the reads by Allen. He missed multiple wide open receivers and instead made tough throws. I would love to know how he is being told to make them.

People expect too much consistency from college QB's and it's not gonna happen outside of the ultra talents like Andrew Luck or someone.

Did you see Golson's pass late in the game vs FSU tonight? He had a WR streaking about 5 yards behind the defense and overthrew him through the back of the endzone by about 7 yards. Would have likely won the game. And that's the #5 team in the country's QB.

Hell this is the weakest the SEC has been with QB's in YEARS, the conference in general doesn't have shite at QB right now it's not just us.

I don't think he makes reads. Seriously. I think he just looks at 1 guy 90% of the time.

I imagine his thought process is like this:

Ready
(oh-shite, oh-shite, oh-shite)
Set
(damn we should run it, oh-shite)
Hut
(Oh-shite, oh-shite, just throw it over there, AHHHHHHHHHHHH!)

Most likely.

Bert isn't going to hang on to any one out of loyalty, friendship, or anything like that.

Last season I believe he saw Chaney as the lesser of two evils, meaning he wasn't going to replace both OCs, a DB coach, the DC, and D-line coach after one season, or rebuilding his entire staff, basically.

Chaney gives me the same vibe Ash gave this time last year, Bert all like, its fine, its fine, meanwhile a "get a new job or get fired" was more of the reality.

When Bo Wallace and Dak Prescott are said to be the best of the group, that really shows how down the group is.

Wallace couldn't win the starting job at stAte over a guy who wasn't good enough to get an Arkansas offer...

While most of the time the Hog fans that get in the "that coach needs fired" group are morons, I think the Fire Chaney group is warranted. Do any of you (Hog Fans) or any of your friends think Chaney is competent?

There are open receivers a lot of the time. I don't know.

I like a lot of the things he has come up with in regards to formations/play design. His ideas are very sound. However, I do not like the actual flow of his play calling and I think he is a terrible QB coach.
