Say Ole Miss wins late/close/controversially, finish undefeated, and beat a 3-loss East champion handily in Atlanta. State finishes 11-1 with a convincing win at Bama.

In that scenario, can you name 3 non-SEC teams that would deserve to get in the playoffs ahead of State? They could end up playing Ole Miss in the semis or the finals.

I don't think anybody in the West will go undefeated.

Obviously, it is a possibility...I don't think it is probable.

Yes. Assuming that happened, both would most likely get in. Even if Ole Miss loses the egg bowl, if they're 11 - 1, they're gonna get one of the private dances.

2 SEC teams in the playoffs is possible ,but I don't think they are both going to be from the state of Mississippi. The second team will probably be someone with a huge draw.

Not sure about this. Committee of mostly laypersons. Laypersons love underdogs. Landmass teams define "underdog."

I can easily see a one loss Landmasser getting the nod over a perennial top ten program.
