@BenAxelrod: Urban Meyer says that he counts Cam Newton as being a product of his offense, which isn't completely fair, but #recruiting.

@BenAxelrod: Context of Meyer's Cam Newton comment: was talking about his offense putting QBs in NFL. Said he counts Newton w/ Alex Smith & Tebow.
oh, CUM.

I bet there are quite a few coaches that claim to have contributed to Cam's success.....Urban/Mullen/Blinn Juco coaches/Chizik/Malzhan.

He did play for Urban longer than any other college coach. Stranger things are definitely done and said in recruiting, but don't know if I was Meyer I would be telling reporters that.

I've always thought having to watch Cam Newton tear it up at Auburn is what contributed to Meyer's health problems.

If you actually read that guy's twitter, he also quotes Urban saying Missouri was picked to win the east and then lost to Indiana.

What a lying sack of shite. Missouri wasn't picked to win the east this year. South Carolina was the favorite from media days

Who cares where he played longer? A reporter who covered Florida during Cam's day now works for an Auburn website. This reporter has said Cam couldn't hit the broad side of a barn while he was at Florida. Urbie is still full of crap to take credit for any of his NFL success

Not sure that is worth getting so worked up over.

I don't see him taking credit for his success, just that he uses him as an example of NFL QB's that he has coached. Do you think if anybody heard him say he is responsible for Cam Newton they would take him seriously?

In 2010, I said UF needed to hire the Blinn CC QB coach.
