Everyone I talk to who has been to the swamp tells me horror story after horror story.

I'm heading there this weekend. Should I really be expecting someone to try to fight me every 5 steps?

Just curious.

Gainesville cops can be a-holes to opposing fans especially ones who have an open container. Solo cup.

As for fighting, I expect if you are looking for a fight you can find one at any away game.

They were great the only time I've been, which was weird because they were always assholes in Atlanta for the SECCG.

No different than the horror story after horror story I was told about Tiger fans when I came out y'all's way for our game last year. I went fully prepared to whip out my poncho for the piss balloons, but instead was showered in food, booze, and friendly Tiger-Baiting.

There's always a chance you'll run into some young, drunk douchebag, but every fanbase has them. Most folks ought to be fairly decent. The tailgating scene will be nothing to write home about - y'all pretty much own that title, IMO - but ought to be a decent experience.

Night games in The Swamp are fun and electric. And, really, nobody should be talking any shite with the way we've been playing and now that we don't have anyone to rely on past Driskel.

Oh, and as someone else mentioned, open containers are a big no-no and the Gainesville po-po are unpleasant. Solo cup everything and you'll be all right.

Have fun, man!

I went in 08 and they were pretty bad. The normal ones were fine but the guidos in the Tebow jerseys were total pricks. Watch out for those as even though Tebow doesn't play football (much less football for Florida) anymore they'll be out.

Didn't help they we got totally skull fricked that game.

Yeah, it'll be warm. Weather prediction right now is very high 70's, sunny and clear all day and only dropping to about 73 by gametime.

Like what? The ratio of spiky gel heads to the typical SEC West frat swoops?

I went in 2006 and some guy in a black Teddy Dupay jersey tried to fight me and some others at The Swamp (bar).

Other than that it was fine.

The one time I went I was sitting at a red light with a female in my passenger seat. Group of about 8 dudes piled into a little truck roll up beside me and one of them yells "LSU fig!"

Makes sense I guess.

It's Gainesville. Ugly brick building in muggy weather. Avoid anyone wearing jorts. Don't get too close to the women, they only know one word on game day WOOOOO real loud til they get drunk and pass out. After halftime, you should mostly have the place to yourself.

Jorts , but LSU fans are too down to talk shite about UF. We have our own insecurities right now.

FYI: Not a lot of people wear jorts on Gameday in the Swamp.

Shocking I know.

My arse. Even while FSU kicked UF's arse last year in the Swamp, the fans stayed till the end.
