Starting to wonder if it is CNS, or does Kiff, Nuss, and Coach Mc all coach the same?

I hate to question coaching. I mean, I hate it with a passion. Especially hate to question this staff. But how many times has this happened now? AU 2010, AU 2013, now this game. There are probably more. It totally changes the mindset of the team. Hard to feel relentless when your coach is just trying to run out the clock like you're liable to screw up the score.

Lack of Yeldon cost us. Henry was off today. If TJ had gotten 30 carries we would have won.

Hey, been saying it forever man. It breeds complacency.

A lot of guys were off today. If we don't have however many delay of games, emergency remounts, false starts, and holding calls, we probably would have won. Not to take anything away from OM, but we had some guys playing stupid out there.

I'm not going to question the coaching in this game, especially on offense. Ole Miss D is very good and with Blake Sims on the rad for the 1st time, I think they played it right.

2 missed FG's and Jones fumble on the return along with the confusion on defense cost is this game. Also think the injury to Ryan Kelly was huge also. Special Teams has been a disappointment all this year and it finally cost us today.

Good game.....can't win them all and the loss just gives the players an opportunity to learn and improve for the rest of the season. Congrats to Ole Miss for a whale of a 2nd half.

I think it also takes a shot to the team's confidence.

It also can't be healthy for me because I always lose my shite when it happens.

ETA: Not my actual shite, but you know, my other shite...whatever.

Agree with all of this. Was glad to see Griffith get another chance and make it. He needed the confidence boost. Defense made a lot of mental errors. Was impressed by Sims' ability to play through several bad snaps and confusion after Kelly went out.

I was annoyed for a few minutes, but I got over it. Today was probably the biggest day in OM history. Good for them.

Have you checked the turnover margin lately? Do you realize a fumble on a kick return, set up Ole Miss for the go ahead score?

Not to mention, another fumble on a kick return, that was recovered by us, two dropped picks, right in Ole Miss defenders hands.

Last drive, with a chance to win, pick in the end zone.

Conservative? More like not trying to turn it over, which isn't working, and procedure penalties out the arse.

Do you realize we still turned it over despite playing not to lose? Might as well keep the foot on the gas and play aggressively.

I think a lot of the mistakes come from playing not to lose. Makes everyone nervous. Just play like you want to run over them with no remorse.

No, the turnovers were not coming from playing not to lose, quite the opposite actually.

Check the turnovers, and turnover margin in each game this year, finally bit us in the arse.

And freakin illegal procedure calls.

This is hurting us as much as anything else. Constantly putting yourself behind on down & distance is bound to cost you at some point and that was on full display today.

For the life of me, I will never understand why Saban does this. You don't have to go out guns blazing before the half but don't just put your tail between your legs either. We had just had a pretty impressive drive and we will get the ball back to start the 2nd Half. Time to kill their will. Instead, we try to just bleed the clock and hope to get to the half. That is coaching "not to win" and that mentality trickles down to the rest of the team. As evidenced by our growing propensity to lose any game that is tight.

Punting inside the 40 was a bad move, too.

When will coaches (all coaches, just not CNS) realize the value of each possession and the probability of scoring/being scored upon?*

*I realize it was 4th and long. Doesn't matter. You never punt inside the opponent's 40.

Well that decision to bleed clock actually turned out alright for us given the fumble returned for a TD. But I get what you're saying.

I thought the team looked tight all game, or at least after Drake's injury. Playing not to lose if you will. This has been a trend with Saban's teams at least once a year since he's gotten here. Mistakes in the 4th quarter killed us again. Howard gets flagged for a holding at almost the same exact spot and situation as he did in last year's Iron Bowl. The Jones fumble was reminiscent of McElroy's fumble in the 2010 Iron Bowl.

But all the credit to Ole Miss. They made the plays when they needed to and was the better team yesterday.

This, and I also think that Drake's injury really rattled the team.

The team looked confused and made too many penalties.
