I know this is a bit of an off season thread but i'm watching a CFL game and got to thinking how a top level SEC team would do against them?

I hope you're not this stupid. The worst CFL team would pick the score against the 2009 Alabama team.

Why? They have no NFL caliber players whereas a top level SEC has several ... Though they would have more experience

Yes they do. Where do you think all of the players who don't make it to the NFL go?

Only a handful of CFL players are good enough to play in the NFL.

The top end talent on a good SEC team>>>>the top end talent on a CFL team. CFL team wins 9/10 times but it's not a name your score scenario like you're saying, those are all guys that weren't good enough to play in the NFL.

CFL teams are still mostly Canadians. I think there is even a rule that they have to have so many Canadian nationals on each team. More guys that don't make the NFL end up playing Arena League and the like

That too. Kids down here grow up training for football and playing football. Year round. Kids up there do not.

I agree with rise 4 out of 5 go to the pros but they would struggle against the best of SEC athletes

Yep. It's a rule. 42 players on active squad, and at least 21 have to be 'non-import' . NI means, from Wikipedia :
quote:

"A player why o was physically resident in Canada for an aggregate of 7 years prior to turning 15 or if he’s a Canadian Citizen, was physically resident in Canada for an aggregate period of 5 years prior to turning 18"
especially if you're playing CFB rules, it's not a pick your score game.

I grew up in Canada, CFL is fun to watch. But skill wise, the gap isn't nearly as wide as some believe.

3 downs, 12 players, wider field(longer too, but that doesn't really play into it) , no fair catches, and rouges. It's a pretty different game.
