Saban:
I know someone is gonna ask if having a bye week is a good thing. I don't know. We just worked on getting better. Worked on getting players with injuries healed up. On that point, probably successful. D. White will be the only player limited in practice. He will be day to day and probably be able to play some role in the game.
Blake threw the ball towards end of the week. Was on a pitch count. Feel like he's ok and ready to practice and go.
Playing teams like Ole Miss on the road has challenges - game management, noise, biggest though, will be quality of their team. Preparation is really important for a game like this.
Their defense is fast and aggressive. Best defense to play this year, will be best team we've played this year.
Wallace has done a really good job of executing offense, really good job with no huddle and pace of play. Treadwell is really good receiver. Oline better than it's been in the past. Play well on special teams, team plays hard and with a lot of passion and has played really well as a team. Challenging game for us.
Q. Eddie Jackson.. is he 100%?
Worked him quite a bit, he's getting there. Tony Brown played well. Those 2 will probably compete throughout the week.
Uses Tampa Bay getting blown out by Atlanta and then coming back to win in relation to being ready each week and how scores and last week doesn't affect this week.

Talking about Wallace having a lot of explosive plays and the advantage of him being a 3rd yr starter.
Talks about Rebel defense being so quick and giving problems in the past and how they have 9 starters back. Very effective on scheming to take things away and make things difficult on the QB.
We have played more guys up front and wants to continue to play more, but just haven't had continuity to do it at this point, but this would be a good week to do it, based on their pace of play. Controlling the ball offensively has helped, but it will be a challenge against this team.
Thinks there is good chemistry with Blake and the team and shows when watching him play. Then talks about negative plays and penalties and how have to get better.

Asked about matchup problems with Treadwell.
He's complete package when comes to size, athleticism, quickness and toughness. Have a pretty good idea where he'll be, but not route he'll be on. Tried to put guy on guy on a no huddle team last yr and was difficult. Whoever is on him, will have to study him and execute better than how they do.

Don't do that "they play the same position" shite with boundary/field Saban. Just play the two best Corners, whoever they are between CJ/TB/EJ.
But I guess he is the one getting paid the big bucks.

Well, a 75% EJ and TB might be about neck and neck. I guess we don't really know how banged up EJ is. 100% EJ is clearly #1.

EJ had his breakout game against Ole Miss. He's going to be on the field on Saturday.

Exactly.
I love Cyrus, but man he has to bring it this Saturday. He has a big size disadvantage against those receivers.

Everything we have seen from Cyrus Jones this year shows that he is much improved and probably is a decent CB#2. He had no passes completed on him this past week, so we can't really ask for much better than that.

Definitely. But that doesn't really matter with today's offense. A size advantage is a big deal. He's about 5'9". Ole Miss has a few 6'2" and 6'3", big bodied guys. I'm worried their hurry up will expose the size advantage. It isn't a knock on Cyrus, it is nothing he can control.

Coop didn't catch any balls this past week either. tDecline is real.

Eddie played great against them last year. Here's to a repeat performance.

Please excuse my ignorance, I suck when it comes to players and positions.
But I was under the impression that Cyrus Jones is CB#1. Afterall right now it's EJ and Brown fighting it out for the other CB position, so wouldn't that make them fighting for CB#2?
Probably doesn't matter, but like I said - I'm ignorant about these things and I'm trying to understand. Why is CJ CB#2 and who is CB#1?

Well technically Cyrus is the field corner and Eddie/TB are battling to be the boundary corner.

From what I gathered, DeAndrew White is the only person that is day to day and everyone else is healthy. Blake should be good to go this week.
