ESPN's Kirk Herbstreit was on The Herd with Colin Cowherd on Thursday and had high praise for the Alabama offense and Tide offensive coordinator Lane Kiffin.

"I think Alabama- what Lane Kiffin has done with their offense- I think it's fascinating. All the Alabama fans and SEC fans when Lane Kiffin got hired (said ) 'Nick Saban had the audacity to bring in Lane Kiffin to Tuscaloosa.' Now, they've never seen an offense like what they've seen so far with an inexperienced quarterback like Blake Sims. I've had head coaches and defensive coordinators I've talked to in the last week say 'this is scary now,' and 'now it's officially scary,' because Nick's always won with defense and being tough and physical on offense with a good running game, but the scheme and the athletic ability they have at running back and receiver is frightening."

Alabama is 4-0 on the season and rolled up over 600 yards of offense against Florida last week. The Tide are currently fifth in the nation in yards per game, averaging 594 yards per contest.

I would, but so far my preseason opinions have been confirmed.

Kiffin = Great OC
Nuss = Shitty OC

He is certainly proving that at Michigan

But in general. We havent played anyone yet. If we are still putting up these numbers in a month I will get excited.

Yeah, I'm hoping for the best, but this team has looked good in one of the two real games it has played this year. And there were still a ton of mistakes in that game which was against a terrible team. It's like everyone forgot that Florida needed triple overtime to beat Kentucky or something.

Florida's D is at least someone.

I don't think we'll continue at this pace, but I could see us ending the season averaging 510 YPG and 40 PPG

i think this will bear itself out in the season. they have as much defensive talent as anyone in the country and have lots of guys that will play on sunday and a couple that will go in he first round. i think they were not expecting kentucky to come out throwing so well, and we are a completely different animal on offfense that in the past 6 years, so much more versatile and hard to predict.

Yeah, I was somewhat hopeful that Alabama could play this year somewhat under radar, at least relatively speaking for Alabama. Kind of wanted a year where some other SEC teams were the media favorites (until we beat them at least). Looks like the media is jumping on the Bama bandwagon full speed ahead as usual though. Oh well, comes with the territory. Guys can still play with a chip hopefully.

What really makes my pants tight has been our efficiency on 3rd down.

On 3rd and 5 under Nuss we ran a 4 yard drag route or slant-stop 80% of the time. That was infuriating.

On 3rd and 1 or 2 we ran out of the shotgun, which infuriated me even more.

whats really crazy about the offense is that we have not even scored nearly the points we could have so far due to our own miscues. we likely would be leading the ncaa in scoring at this point if we had not shot ourselves in the foot so often with turnovers and penalties.
