When I was younger I misheard Rush's "Working Man" to say that they called him the "Wookie Man." I figured that song was about a disgruntled Chewbacca.

The Rolling Stones' "Beast of Burden"? Of course: "I'll never be your big suburban..."

What music lyrics have you misheard or misunderstood in the past? Please don't repeat those from Wayne's World.

Gorillaz Clint Eastwood

Always heard "I'm happy, I'm feeling glad"

Found out seven years later it's "I ain't happy, I'm feeling glad"

When I was younger I always thought the lead singer of Rush was a woman. My mind was blown when I saw them on TV for the first time

"Revved up like a douche" instead of "Revved up like a deuce".

Many a good argument over this song back in the day.

Louie Louie
quote:

Back in 1963, everybody who knew anything about rock 'n' roll KNEW that the Kingsmen's Louie Louie concealed dirty words that could be unveiled only by playing the 45 rpm single at 33 1/3. Eventually the FBI got involved, conducting a thirty-month investigation that led to Louie's reputation as a dirty song.

Peter Frampton. "Do You Feel Like We Do" where he says,"oh won't you." I thought it said for years, "homo Jew."

Not too bad of one, but I thought for the longest time that the lyrics to Pour Some Sugar On Me were "Come on, fatten me up" rather than "fire me up."
