Ok so I have to bring it up. Do y'all finally agree about Coates?

Are y'all still going to defend him? He has all the abilities except hands. He needs better hands.

Everybody had the drops tonight besides Ricardo who usually struggles the most

I've been reluctant to call him a first rounder. They all played like shite though.

Coates played himself off of my Christmas Card list tonight. He has plenty of time to get back on it.

I always thought this was a known fact. I have always felt Sammy lacked elite catching skills. If he had those he would be the talk of CFB due to all of his other attributes.

If he continues to drop passes he'll be back next year.

I see somebody conveniently did not click on my thread a few days ago proving him wrong. LINK

Also both Ric and Sammie had 1 drop tonight. Ric had the fist or second one for the team.

I felt like Sammie and Duke both played themselves outa the first round tonight. IMO.

Sammie gives up on passes way too easy, very frustrating

He reminds me of Julio Jones. He'll drop some balls that'll make you say wtf but then when you need him most he'll give you a catch

Coates dropped 12.5% of his passes last year. As much as the lack of fundamentals in today's football kills me his dropped pass % is a standard % for today's higher drafted WRs.

Wasn't convinced. Too opinion based.

That's what I thought too. This board seems to disagree.

WRs don't play their way into or out of the first round in 1 game, especially guys like Duke who even with the 2 drops still had 8 grabs for 110 yards and a TD.

I agree I don't think Duke hurt his stock much at all because he put up good numbers

He's always had stone hands and butter fingers.

Anybody who denied that is blind

Not opinion based at all. Only fact based. I had the same standards for the ball hitting squarely in the WRS hands or chest for both players. I have no ego or opinion when analyzing statistical data. If the results were reverse I would have said so easily.

Sadly elite catching skills have dropped over the years in football. They're not many elites anymore with that skill.

Exactly.

I don't care about the comparison of Coates to Louis.

I'm lost. That was the crux of the original discussion last week.
