So have we completely given up on Dobbs? I thought between Ferguson and Dobbs we would have at least one good QB.

It bugs me that there ARE some people already giving up on Dobbs.

Dude was a True Freshman last year.

I'll post it as soon as I can find the quote again, but by all accounts Dobbs has stepped up big over the last few weeks. Apparently he's looking better than he has at any point while being at UT.

I'll post the quote and author once I find it again. I'm fairly positive it was Paul on VQ in one of his threads.

That's good. I just sort of wrote him off after Peterman won the backup job.

Yeah, I saw that earlier. Very, very good news. Hopefully Dobbs is able to redshirt this year and then takes the reigns in 2015 and is our QB for the next 3 seasons.

The only 2 places I have question marks about for the next couple of years is QB and OL. We're damn near stacked everywhere else with top young talent.

If Dobbs becomes the player I think he can be next year, VOLS can win 10 games when you look at our schedule. JMO

Do you remember where the quote came from?
I'm not able to find it again for the life of me

I saw it on 3rd & Chavis but the poster never said the source. Here's what he posted. Looks like something Hubbs would write.

quote:

While the staff hopes there is no need to play him for the rest of the season, I think it is worth mentioning that Josh Dobbs looks to have taken some serious strides at the quarterback position in recent weeks. He looks bigger, stronger, more confident, and is throwing the ball with much better zip and accuracy than he did at any point this summer.

A true frosh with no one to throw to and a beat up line. Definitely not giving up on Dobbs. His performance at UK was brilliant, his passing and overall play at Mizzou was actually really good despite that being a terrible game, his TD that would've won the Vandy game was called back because of Pig's block (actually so many plays and drives were stalled at Mizzou and in other games by stupid mistakes/false starts etc it was frustrating to watch).

Also Dobbs was brilliant at the O&W, Peterman is improved. Hell they both are - we really are way better off than folks want to believe at QB.

From watching Dobbs last year, i still think he has a chance to be a good one. And I still say he's better than Worley (even though he's played pretty decent so far). Dobbs could do really well in this offense, and I think he will.
