So far he has been the best defensive linemen in the SEC this season. I expected it to be Chris Jones or Robert but this guy has come out of nowhere. I don't remember him being this good.

Preston is a defensive end, right? Why would they never be on the field at the same time? That is deadly.

he played like this in the liberty bowl and everyone was hopeful that it would carry over, but I don't think anyone expected what he has done so far.

Preston had a baby. He has to make that cheddar now.

You'd be surprised how often that happens. It's a good thing to get someone motivated.

I actually do think the kid was born right around the time he went off (last years bowl game).

Good for him.

That's a big reason why Moncrief left Ole Miss early. He wanted to stay but he had to provide for his daughter. And he apparently showed out in camp and is getting some playing time.

they were playing smith inside in some passing situations and jones outside. those two knocked out the QB in the 3rd quarter.

He caught a long pass and almost scored a TD last night but was pushed out of bounds around the 10

No one was expecting him to be the best DL in the SEC the first 3 weeks -- but he was close to elite last year. Was a much better all-around DE than Autry. Far more physical and less likely to get made a total fool in run support. Was actually a superior pass rusher in both of Autry's years too...

Smith had a decent draft grade and thought about leaving early. Pros consider him similar to McPhee in alot of ways ...

He has added some weight, and he is a lot stronger. He and Chris teamed up well in Mobile. Hopefully we will see more of that with Preston making the QB step up into the pocket while Chris crushes it from the front.

Chris and Preston are really tall. If they get their hands up, they can cut off a lot of passing alleys.

I know the competition has been weak, but 30 TFL so far is pretty stout.
