Brantley and Augusta, notable for good tackles and play making (big game for Big Bear), and Loud and Harris had some reps where they showed up in the play at least, didn't notice Hatley and Winston but they might have also got in the game.

Finding the guys who are going to have meaningful rotation reps as backups is a key at this point, it's one of the things that helped differentiate the Mizzou Defense last season. Even in great shape it's clear the starters can't go the whole way with this D, we are far too vulnerable on 3rd and long and leave the D out on the field too much for that to happen.

At some point the backfield has to stop giving up those long 16-19 yard conversions. It's not all their fault of course, when they are playing 10 yards off the line and back pedaling like mad on the snap, it's no wonder they can't cover the quick slant that well. We are handing the other team 10 yard plays at will with this scheme and making it simple for them to block out the secondary on wide run plays.

I know we can play some D when we get in the red zone but if we're gonna allow them to march the middle of the field every time the D is gonna be tired and need a lot of subbing.

Hayley was in on one of the sacks, I believe. And the way they play off the ball makes me crazy.

I am going to give you an upvote as this is your best bait to date. The only item you left out is how Pinkel is losing the team because of all the infighting on the sideline. Maybe work that in with an OOC schedule topic?

Loud finally made some noise (and not on his twitter account).

He got a QB hurry and knocked down the QB. QB didn't get up very quickly. He didn't get a flag on that one, but the next play someone else did.

He played, and made some plays. I'm guessing you didn't watch the last minute of the game, when he sacked Holman, stripped the ball, and singleton picked it up for a scoop and score? #95

yea saw him, also Harris making a nice spin move to get pressure on the QB, looks like these kids are coming along, just not anywhere near what we had in Golden and Ray last year at this time. That's my concern.

Guys making ridiculous circus catches on 3rd and long isn't the norm

yea that's the only reason we ever give up 3rd and long, because the other team is so ridiculously awesome.
