KY deserves more respect than they get.

I would like us to look at some things that may give us a little comfort.

First and foremost: The worst team we've had in over 30 years went to Lexington last year and beat the hell out of Kentucky.

We didn't have our best defensive player, we didn't have our starting quarterback and we were in their house.

Oline was still the same ol' Oline.

And we still blew them out.

This year? We had almost our entire team, we were at home and we have a better offense in every way, shape and form aside from Oline.

People will see a vastly improved Kentucky team, and I don't think we should feel bad.

Of course it'll be fodder for the stupider among us, but Kentucky played a damn fine game and I'll wager they do better as the year goes on.

I agree. They probably won't get the credit they deserve. But Kentucky being better and UF not executing well are not mutually exclusive.

The penalties and poor execution are what most of us have an issue with. We had 3 points until the 3rd and were awful in the red zone. There's a lot of room for improvement.

No offense, but do you see any issues with how UF played last night at all? If you thought we were going to win 37-9 prior to yesterday's game, how do you think they'll play vs Bama?

They also had some amazing luck, that's true, but they look infinitely better than they did last year.

Still way better than last year. At least we're not averaging 100+ penalty yards a game.

One thing I would like to see is our players talking less shite. Let's get some more wins before we get swagger.

Read option needs to be installed where Driskel keeps the ball, that'll open that side of the field up.

Always gonna be no matter what game we play, can't be perfect and it's going to take time to install the new offensive scheme.

I'll reiterate though: Kentucky is not nearly as bad as people say they are, they're playing much better than previous years. (I'm watching the 2013 Florida - KY game right now on Youtube.)

Read option is coming out for Bama. That's certain. But the improvement from last year to this year is hard to measure. So many players were injured last year. Offensively, I would like to see an improvement from 2012.

Abso-frickin-lutely. It's a byproduct of an aggressive defense but still...

I get it, too, but there are times where we're jabbing at frickin' teams like Kentucky and it's just completely unwarranted. It's Kentucky.

I know they need respect, but they're not world beaters, shut up and do your job. So many personal fouls for so many stupid reasons.

I agree Kentucky is better but there is no excuse for letting them come into the Swamp and take us to 3OT. We would all agree we have much better athletes on the field. I'm not going to use that excuse for the way we played, that's exactly what we said last year when we lost to Vandy. They have recruited well for Kentucky the last two years finishing 36th and 20th but we were 2nd and 6th. The only thing that can be different is coaching and execution. Something is not translating.

No offense taken...heres the way I see it...we scored 36 points and I predicted 37 by UF...I was ONE POINT off!

Was I wrong about UK? Hell yeah..I knew they were improved and sure...we went into 3 OTs to beat them and everyone will say we underperformed. I don't see that. Our team gave max effort but made mistakes....UK wanted this game badly and Stoops had his team fired up. We were an eyelash from losing and you have to credit our team for winning. We are 2-0.

As for Bama...I still think they are over rated and get credit because of past history. They are a good team but not great. Our defense will give them fits and tahts why I think we win. Their passing game isn't better than UKs. Run game is where our defense is awesome...we seal creases like wet cement. I believe we leave BDS with a W. Remember 1963, 1987 & 1990 as years where we were underdogs without a chance to win up there.

And I think people need to keep in mind: This is Kentucky's Super Bowl.

They haven't beaten us in a long, long time. Especially in The Swamp. They wanted that game bad and got some very fortunate (and unfortunate) bounces.

Last years team would of folded like a lawn chair if they would of gotten punched in the mouth like they did against UK last night. You got to like the attitude of this team so far.

i look at the game as the second one of the season under a new oc with some problems in coverage on defense that can happen early in the season even to talented dbs and can be cleaned up.

what i did like is that we gutted out a tough win and made clutch plays when our backs were to the wall.

given the way things played out, i think last night was a huge confidence booster.

I will also say this. This team really needs a road game to get out of Gainesville right now. Despite the blowout last week nobody was really praising them or even saying good job. Then they get a hard fought victory and all they hear is "well this team still looks terrible". These guys need to turn their smartphones off and go up to Bama and just focus on some football.

I'm happy with the team, very happy.

Really, we have had the shittiest luck in the past few years regarding goddamn last minute games.

This is one of the few times that we managed to pull one out with all of the luck looking against us.

And yes, we're missing that Idaho game right about now to work the kinks out of the offense.

I think it depends to whom our players decide to pay attention. Even last year, the student body wasn't nearly as cruel as the message boards. Yes, everyone was down, but I don't think the vast majority of those whom they dealt with on a day-to-day basis would have said anything derogatory to them. When you catch one of these guys grabbing lunch or in the classroom, it's pretty striking just how much like every other 20-year-old college student they are. Obviously, not exactly the same, but they are still far more similar than they aren't.

I also think anybody, particularly older somebodies, that would say anything negative directly to a student who plays any sport at the university should never be allowed into the stadium again. Maybe that is colored by my also teaching at UF and seeing a handful of these kids away from the field, but I tend to think most people agree with me there regardless of their relationship with UF.

Then again, I do see the occasional poster around the Gatorverse that think because they donate money to athletics that they also have a right to say anything they want to anyone, but I think they are a very small minority.

Don't agree with this. We were the team that got the lucky breaks this game. Remember that pass that should of been a pick 6 but bounced right into D-Robs hands for like a 40 yard gain. That was one of the luckiest plays I have ever seen.

This is more what I am talking about. When I said team I was also referring to the entire coaching staff.

Nah man, you look at that kick with a double bend hitting the top right bar and managing to go in at 50+ yards out -- that's curse like shite right there.

Then that run in overtime that should have been absolutely stuffed right then and there.

We got lucky, but in those situations we almost never, ever win. Thankfully we got the breaks last night, and that's what I was saying: It's rare that we get out of a game like that.

When we called that timeout when UK had a 3rd and 16 on the 2 with about 40 seconds left. I was thinking this is going to bite us in the arse, I can feel it. Then they got the first down then I was thinking, shite they are gonna complete some 50 yard pass play and get a field goal. Then we got that lucky arse interception with about 28 seconds to go. I was elated.

Like I said man: We never win those games. I've seen this shite happen over and over again with Tennessee a few years back and then again with Ole Miss. There were a few times where I thought for sure we were cooked due to history.
