thoughts and prayers needed.

basically, you only eat non processed foods with no additives, HFCS, sugar, or hormones.

thus milk is not applicable along with a host of other tasty bread items.

normally every morning, i get the kids cereal and scrimp a little off the top of reece's puffs or raisin bran. not today with an eagle eye watching me in the kitchen.

i make my kids sandwiches for school. i normaly cut myself off a slice of cheese for my troubles. not today with the STASI in the room.

my wife has made some good meals the last 2 days, but i leave the table unsatisfied every single time. i'm sure that it's due to a lack of MSG or something making me feel full.

anybody else submit themselves to this torture?

frick no. I love to eat way too much to even think of doing something that stupid.

That said, I do eat relatively healthy.

i ate healthier in the past when i lost a ton of weight.

i've kept about 80% of it off since getting into the 160's 3 years ago. with exercise, it's in spite of my eating since then, not because of it.

If you weigh in the 160s then you're skinny as shite unless you're female. Even then it's not fat depending on your body type cause my GF is 155 and athletic built and looks great

i bottomed out at 159 and said screw this. i'm getting a cheeseburger after a few months of clean eating.

i've kept a moderately healthy diet (more portion control than anything) and a pathetic, but somewhat regular exercise regime. and been pretty stationary between 175 - 180 for a year now.

the problem is that i got skinny fat. too much cardio and not enough lifting. sure, i fit in smalls and 30-32 pants, but i still have a lot of flab that never disappeared.

My wife and some of her friends tried to inflict this shite on me. I wholeheartedly reject this diet. You will never convince me that it is better than a well rounded diverse diet including moderate amounts of "unhealthy" foods and some booze.

And fricking almond flour is no substitute in frying chicken. Not even close.

I did it about a year and a half ago.

I learned some good eating habits, so it was worthwhile. No way I could do that all the time.

I slowly incorporated things like cheese back into my diet, but I completely stopped drinking milk and I was a 2 gallon a week milk drinker.

The only real reason I dropped paleo was the overwhelming amount of weight I lost. People started commenting that I looked sick. I really only needed to lose 10, and lost about 30. at 6'4 and 180, I looked like a rail.

I think if I ever do it again I will have to double my caloric intake to make up for the loss of carbs. That way I maintain a decent weight. Plus I'll get on some sort of weight training regime to build some muscle.

Dude your just addicted to processed food. Going on a clean diet will fix it, but like any other addiction, the 1st week will be the hardest!

You should be eating meats, and go with a bunch of vegs, but try to cut out the starchy ones (although sweet potatoes are pretty good for you and can be used as a treat).

Cut out rice and most, if not all grains. Make sure to avoid soy as well.

If you are craving some sweets, just eat some fruit, although it would be best to limit your fruit intake.

I try to eat clean for the most part, but here are some of the foods I would try to avoid that aren't processed:

rice and grains
would limit most legumes
limit nightshade plants
limited amount of fruits (avocados and lemon can be eaten as much as wanted)

-----

another thing I've started to notice, is that whenever I eat meat, I still have that hunger feeling, even though my stomach is full. B/c when I've eating just veggies and no meat for a day, I didnt get that hunger, but I love meat so that didnt' last long.

You can get milk and bread without these things in it.

well aware. but it's delicious. and it's in a carton so she can't actually see my failures rise with the lowering line of of self control as she can with a gallon of chemical embedded cow milk.

I've been on Paleo for 2 months (no booze either), but went off for vacation over the holiday weekend. Gained 7 lbs (mostly water from the sodium) in 4 days and feel like absolute shite. Once your body gets used to clean eating and no booze, it rejects it. Back on the wagon today. I'm a little hungry because all I've had are protein bars and one chunk of meat, but, overall, I feel better now that that shite's flushing out of my system.

ETA: I know that protein bars aren't Paleo, but in my line of work, you eat when you can. If not for the bars I'd be hitting the drive-thru at Whataburger.

It's just another unnecessary fad diet that appeals to dumb consumer-oriented Americans.

Eating healthy doesn't require you to drop processed foods or additives, doesn't require a cute stylish diet and isn't particularly expensive. Hell, just limit fast food, red meat and dairy and you are well on your way to being healthier than the vast majority of Americans.

While it's true that cutting out fast food, red meat and dairy is a great way to be healthier and physically appear to be in outstanding shape, you're not coming close to your full health potential without cutting the processed foods and harmful additives.

There is like science to it all, if you want to look it up.
