Glad to get the win, and if anything, shows where some work needs to be done for this team to get through SEC play.

D-line: The Ugly.. I expected much more out of them than what they showed, especially the first half. They seemed to get it together in the 2nd half, but got to work on it. LB play falls into this category as well.

Secondary: The Bad.. Sylve... sigh. I know they were affected somewhat by the LB and Dline play, but damn. So many missed tackles today too.

Sims and RB's: The Good. Pleased with how Sims responded in his first start and in a tight game. Wasn't perfect, but his mistakes were kept to a minimum and for the most part, he played within himself and made some plays when he needed to. Should have had over 300 passing, with maybe a TD had the ball not been dropped on that one long pass play the defender got lost. Henry and Yeldon.. what can I say.. what a 1-2 punch. Both over 100 yds on the day.

Good and Bad - The oline. For the most part, pretty happy with the pass protection they were giving. There were times I thought they could have done better in run protection. Overall, please. Over 500 yds can't be bad. Hope they gel a little more before Florida. Think they could be a really good line by the end of the year.

Coaching - Would have like to have seen Howard get the ball more than was attempted. Otherwise, I think they were feeling out what they felt Blake could handle and be successful with. Can't really complain about it.

Kicking - The DAMN GOOD. We have a kicker, a punter and someone who can put it in the damn endzone. A+++++

ST's coverage - Then again, I think the last time we gave up a TD return in the opening game of the season, we went undefeated and won the NC.. the Va Tech game I believe.

Final thought - 1-0. Undefeated. NC hopes are alive.

Our kicking game this year is un-fricking-believable.

And Henry and Yeldon are running like nobody's business.

I was impressed with our true freshman left tackle today.

The Good:

Amari fricking Cooper. Why they didn't double team him all game, I'll never know. He helped inflate the passing stats a bit.

Cam Robinson: stud. I thought he did well for his first game.

Derrick Henry: What a beast. Someone that big should not be that quick and that shifty. There must be some physics law against it.

TJ Yeldon: Looks like he has curbed some of his fumbling problems.

Jon Allen: Hot damn.

JK Scott/ Adam Griffith: Wow. Just wow. Do we actually have good specialists? Unbelievable.

Fricking Lane Train. Choo choo bitches.

The Bad:

Leon Brown Didn't block well. Penalties like crazy.

Jarrick Williams:

D-Line: I am sick of saying "this will be the year." Frick it. We will never have a consistent pass rush.

The Ugly:

Sylve: Couldn't cover my 92 year old grandma.

Linebackers: Gross. Reuben looked lost for most of the game. Depriest needs to get back out there.

Yep. And a lot of these spread teams get rid of the ball quickly negating any good pass rushes or effective pass blitzes. I think the key to stopping that type of O is the back 7 not the front 4

You can't pass rush that team. This was a test for the secondary. Sylve has to turn his head around, my only complaint. Take away the kick return and this isn't a bad game.

frick throwing the ball to Howard, Sims was probably told the same shite from the sidelines and forced one.

I was really impressed for a team in its first game with its first new QB in 3 years. He was in control and played to his capabilities. Roll damn tide

Yeldon had 126 yards, Henry at 117 yards, and Cooper had 130 yards. Thats what I call getting production out of your play makers.

Oh and
24 Carries, 28 Yards, 1.2 ypc.

That's pretty awesome.

Yep. And White had 73 yds. Gonna need to spread it around a bit more to the receivers though.

That one play by White where he was dead to rights and then turned it into a 30 yard gain was beautiful. I know White is fast, but never knew he possessed that kind of play making ability.

He had some great moves. If that ball hadn't hit Christian right in the hands, that would have been a huge gain, maybe a TD.

We didn't handle the tempo well at all. Still confused on assignments. WVU bailed us out with half a dozen drops and a few overthrows on uncovered players put of the backfield. Texas A&M would have scored 50 on us tonight at the level they played at Thursday.

And that...if I'm not mistaken...is EXACTLY why we hired Lane Kiffin.
