OLine woes.

Freeze said that we were using a "first sound snap count" (???) and Boise was calling out shifts, so that threw us off. Said once we switched from that type of snap count is when the false starts died off.
Also saw where he kind of threw Bo under the bus by saying that two of his INTs weren't even progression reads from the play being run. They had no clue what he was trying to do. I'm hoping that lends creedance to Bo's statement that he had jitters and was forcing more than he had been in practice. He said he tried to turn up for the game and did too much in the first half.
Also, personal observation from me being there - Boise's QB is one of the most poised I've ever seen. I was angry at our DL for a minute until I really started looking. They were in his face and lighting him up, but he was completing circus passes as he was being hit and falling to the ground. It was nuts.
All in all I had a great time watching the game. I know we're not Alabama, but let's not forget that even they looked sloppy last year in their opener against an inferior opponent. They had a senior QB, but were struggling to get their OL figured out. Eventually they did.
We'll learn a lot about this team over the next few weeks leading up to Bama.
And I think my favorite thing about last night was that no matter how drunk I got, as a long as I shouted "frick YEAH CODY!!" I couldn't go wrong no matter if we were on offense or defense.

Did anyone else notice Conyers getting more snaps than Fahn? Was it because Fahn played bad? I watched him on 3 plays, did well with two and got his arse beat by a white DE.

I was wondering about that

I was impressed with Boise's defense to some extent.
They were physical upfront... they kinda quit in the 4th quarter, tho.

They did not quit we were deeper and had size and speed advantage. Inferior competition always faces that challenge in the 4th Q.

Early on they were able to contain the run with their front 7 and keep enough over the top to prevent the big play. It's the same thing State did in November. Stop the run up front so you can make sure playmakers don't slip in behind your safeties. Lets you press hard with your corners, which is why their 5'8 guy on Treadwell looked so scrappy until the game started to turn.
The difference was while State had he depth to do it all game and keep the LB/DL fresh, Boise did not. Front 7 tired, forced them to keep their safety shallower and their corners had to give more space. This is why, IMO, finding a consistent running game is crucial for you guys this year. Your playmakers can light it up but Wallace needs them to break open. When they don't and he has to force tight throws he is more prone to picks.

They got worn down. We made them quit.

In fairness to them, I don't think they quit as much as they got beat.
