Considering how he wanted to see how we played and how much pressure is around him to go to th e Runnin' Rebs, it scares me a bit.

Horace knows of the team being assembled here...it's not like he's coming to play with a bunch of bottom bucket state players.

We'll have a young team with time to develop into something special and noteworthy in terms of the SEC. If he goes to Duke, UNC, etc, he just becomes a bullet point.

I am not worried about the UNC/Dukes of the world, just UNLV. They are both a solid team and could use him. UNLV is a big deal in Vegas and there would be a lot of local pressure

I wonder how Horace feels about UNLV beating #3 Arizona while we barely scraped by lowly Texas Southern

He originally is from Pennsylvania. It will be weird because there is a ton of pressure but he doesn't have the hometown draw

This is true.

Let's not forget that Texas Southern beat Michigan State at home. It might not have been a fluke. A team has to have some level of competence to pull off such an upset. Texas Southern in not ULL or Winthrop.

Did their RPI indicate they were the better team?

Nobody treats RPI as the definitive ranking just a general feel . Also, let's not pretend that we were the better team that night.

Bro I don't follow BB a ton but there is one thing that has been always big on the radar is that damn RPI ranking. You're now telling me it doesn't mean shite? I really don't know and why I'm asking but RPI has been in almost all BB threads I stumble into.

RPI is a big deal. It isn't perfect but widely used as a measuring stick. At this point in the year though it isn't perfect.

Also doesn't overrule tourney committee

But when you say Texas So. had a higher RPI, are you saying it was a higher number, therefore ranked lower than ours, or lower number, therefore ranked higher than ours?

Sorry for the confusion...

RPI also does not matter to them. A lot of times it's correlary to what the committee actually looks at. I studied the teams in depth who made the tourney last year as well as seeds and the teams that did not get in. There are 2 primary things the committee looks at.

1. SOS: If your strength of schedule is below 90 you better go undefeated or win your conference tourney otherwise you're fricked with the committee

2. Be a Road Warrior: Teams that made the tourney as at large teams were all close to or over .500 in road and neutral games. It makes sense the committee selects the teams that plat descent or well on the road as the tourney is at neutral sites.

The big stink last year was SMU not getting in. Well they were justifiably out because of #1 of the criteria listed above. Their entire SOS was 114 and their noncon SOS was 295.

That stuff ain't gonna matter. The determining factor will be can he stand up to the intense pressure the next 4 months to go to UNLV given he will be in Vegas when he signs. The pressure comes from all of Findlay Prep including his coach.

Well our SOS should be top 90, if we can win some road games, a solid amoun tof home game and do well in conference tournament....

I'm watching the replay now.

Horace has a nice put back dunk early in the game.

It satisfying to hear the commentators talk about our class.

Purifoy and Spencer...two top 100 guys headed to the planes.
