....that being said. Absinthe tastes like licorice to me, and I like it. Also one of my favorite hookah tobacco flavors tastes like black licorice.

I'm 32 and I love it, especially Twizzlers black licorice
my dad is literally the only other person I know who also likes it so must be some genetic thing

Yes. I've been told that I'm weird. I don't like overly sweet candy though so licorice is perfect.

Yes ... even if it's the anise stuff and not the authentic licorice stuff.
I'm in my 60s.
What humans used for 1000s of years ... both licorice and sassafras, scientists now claim they are bad for you - which is nonsense.
Anything, in excess, can be bad for you.

I don't necessarily enjoy it, but I don't hate it either.
Sambuca is my favorite after dinner cordial though, and it tastes just like black licorice.

Dig red licorice and black licorice. My favorites are the black jelly beans. Altoids made licorice flavor for a while, and those were pretty darn good.
