Apparently we have a problem with athletes and sex.

Meh.

Rape not cool.

But there's no conspiracy here. Mizzou has addressed the issues.

I suspect this story and other negative reports of sexual misconduct among a few Mizzou athletes, had much to do with the dismissal of DGB.

Don't disagree that this story has been badly blown out of proportion and distorted in the press.

Sadly Mizzou fails at PR and dealing with such stories, they really need to hire a PR guru, something that Chad Moeller or whoever it is they have, is not.

On a college campus for move in weekend (not mizzou). The amount of sluttiness is off the charts, near nakedness erywhere. I'm most appalled and disgusted.

Do they blame the rabbit for chasing the carrot on a stick, especially when the carrot is barely coherent? Dress like a whore, drink yourself to the point of lost control and you should be held accountable for what happens to you.

An old story about Mizzou where the athlete was dismissed from the team for his behavior and rather than the case being swept under the rug, he was prosecuted and convicted.

I feel this is nothing but blowback from our move to the SEC, trying to find anything to cast us in bad light.

Hey supposed journalists, it's worth investigating where there is an alleged rape or assault, the university uses its influence to try to hide it or explain it away, the police refuse to thoroughly investigate, and ultimately the player gets away with it and stays on the football team. That is not the case at Missouri, but it certainly was true for Mixon at OU and Winston as FSU very recently.

after reading some tweets just out today:

quote:

Alden: "We know that mistakes were made in the past. We understand that. For that, it's incumbent on all of us to learn from those mistakes."

and

quote:

Pinkel on differences between DGB and Washington situations: "I had other information, quite honestly, that I knew that would help me make a decision and the decision was that I had to remove him."

I reiterate, it's both ridiculous and embarrassing that a "journalism school" fails so hard at PR, put some SEC money to use and HIRE A PR GURU NOW MIZZOU! Put your AD/sports staff through a basic training course of speaking to the media, because this is just an awful attempt at explaining away a situation in the media that doesn't have to happen.

Really sad we fuk up in this manner over and over.
