Coach Stoops just announced on Twitter that Patrick Towles will be UK's starting QB.
Towles is a redshirt sophomore and a former consensus 4* QB. Rivals and 247 considered him top 10 at his position.
Currently 6'5 238, Towles has very good athleticism for his size and was the top performer in several agility drills at the Elite 11 competition. He has a monster arm but has struggled a little with consistency.
As a true freshman, he first saw action against MSU and went 5/6 for 71 yards and a TD. He sustained a high ankle sprain on the next drive and played sparingly (and poorly) on the injured ankle for the remainder of the season.
In the offseason, he sought out Donny Walker, a local QB coach familiar with the Air Raid offense and worked with him for several months. He also did a week with George Whitfield in California.
Towles can be the prototypical guy for Neal Brown's offense and has enough athleticism to make QB run/zone read plays effective.

Fun fact: Jared Lorenzen (a Highlands grad) coached Patrick Towles at Highlands High School.

He was picking State apart that first quarter. UK probably wins if he doesnt go down.

They may just be the next South Carolina reincarnate!

UK has infinitely more football history than South Carolina.
