With our depth on defense does Freeze run lot more HUNH this year because we can handle the load on defense this year? I removed him saying the last 2 years he wasn't go as fast as he wanted too because we didn't have the depth defensively to do it in the SEC? If we do it could do wonders for our 4th quarter production and closing games that we have been missing.

We were one of the fastest teams in all of CFB last year so I'd hate to see what full speed looks like.

The thing I'm most looking forward to is better red zone play calling. Only Florida was worse in the red zone last year.

I don't think we have the OL depth to run the hurry up too much.

I do think this is the year Freeze really needs to get better with his play calling period. Sometimes there were calls that I was thinking wtf was that call? Trust the defense and stop going for so many 4th downs.

It's was sad last year that I'd rather be 50 yard away from the end zone instead of <15

And never ever run the Treadwell pass or Nkemdiche run again.

Man thank you. Freeze was determined to make that damn Treadwell pass work! Lol

As much as I hated it, didn't it work against Georgia Tech?

Nkemdiche did average something like 6ypc, but I see your point.

I think a lot of our red zone woes had to do with a lack of OL depth and power backs. I'm not ready to say we have either this year, but we could be better in those regards.

For some reason teams like Oregon just appear to operate a lot faster than we do - I was hoping that was the kind of pace we are trending towards.

I think I remember Freeze saying a few years ago that how Oregon operates is the goal.

They seem to because they do. They were ranked 8th in pace of play while we were in the teens. They also are far more efficient than we are especially in the red zone. If we can both speed up our pace of play and improve on our efficiency we will be an extraordinarily dangerous offensive team.

Not only those factors but the play calling was in spots really awful. Couple that with drops(mostly Moncrief who we targeted so much in the red zone) and poor field goal kicking and there's your terrible red zone efficiency.

I really hope that Bo and Treadwell have a better rapport than Bo and Donte did. Those two NEVER seemed to be on the same page.

I also find myself getting pissed off at Donte for not fighting for balls like he could have. I've re-watched the Vandy and LSU games recently and he had several drops that he should have fought harder for.

He had a couple of against AU and Missouri which were completely inexcusable. Auburn we had 7 drops total and we had 6 against Mizzou.

The lack of o-line depth keeps us from going faster. Next season the offensive line should be a strong two deep and CF will be pushing to go faster on offense.

So far, with the lack of defense and depth at o-line he has attempted to use some time management. if he sees the defense locking down an opponent he may push early to get big leads and then slow down in the second half to run clock.

Had more than my share of "What the frick is Freeze thinking?" watching the Rebs down there. It's almost like he over thinks it.

I think that's part of the problem.

Another was our OL's inconsistency.

The year before we were one of the best teams in the country in the redzone. It's not like his playcalling got WORSE.

But I can look past his suspect playcalls here and there because he's so new to the game. Most SEC HCs have a few years experience as a coordinator or HC at Big 5 schools. He only had a few years at Arkansas State. He's coming from a much greener place.

When I'm drunk in the stadium it's tough for me to keep up with it as is.
