Wanted to fire this one up for all our Big Blue Bahamas info/news. For our visitors, 2014-15 UK Basketball is eligible for their out of country tour this season and they're playing multiple national teams in the Bahamas.

Radio: WLAP-AM (630) in Lexington and WHAS-AM (840) in Louisville.

Kentucky will be sporting some new uniforms for the trip (per @UKequipment).

Some Notes for the Kiddies:

- This will be UK's first competition without Orlando Antigua and Rod Strickland. Their replacements are former Pitt assistant Barry "Slice" Rohrssen and former Auburn head coach Tony Barbee.

- Due to injuries, Willie Caulie-Stein and Trey Lyles will not be playing on the tour. Neither practiced with the team today either.

Also there's been some questions about who they're playing. They're playing the Puerto Rican National Reserve Team, Champagne Chalons-Reims Basket (a first division team from France), and the Dominican Republic National Team.

The Dominican Team is using UK as a tune-up before their FIBA competition. They're currently ranked #26 in the world.

I've been wondering how game threads would go over the Rant during this time of the year.

Kyle Tucker also had some nice non-specific practice report from today.

some really heads-up passing. He's in control.

Johnson is just a monster in the paint. I'd love to know his conversion rate on offensive rebounding opportunities. He's got to be 80 percent or better on corralling offensive boards that are anywhere near him. Just gobbles them up. He's an immovable object down low and once he has it down there, he's hard to keep from putting it in the basket. Fun to watch.

As mentioned previously, he's also making much more athletic plays. He thundered down the lane for one dunk that dropped most onlookers' jaws and went way up to throw down an alley-oop dunk. Didn't see that very often last season.

We all talked about how good we thought Dakari would be if he came back for another season. Glad to see he seems to be making the most of it.

He really started coming into his own late in the season. Might've been the player I was most excited about having back because he's going to be an absolute beast.

Liked the bit on Devin Booker as well. Think he's going to be a good offensive option and one of the better perimeter guys we've had since Lamb.

Oh it pains me so much to read that name. I hope the kid does well. Saw his name and prompted my probably stupid question. Can the kids coming in this fall play in these exhibition games? Even if they can, do they? Seems it would be hard to be up to speed with very limited time spent in UK's program. Though the games themselves would obviously speed up their learning curve come the regular season.

Yes. Most teams do this mainly because you get 10 extra days of practice when other teams can't. The difference is most teams then go play some crappy teams they can beat by 40 points, I'll be surprised if Kentucky actually wins some of these games.

Like I mentioned the practice is a huge benefit. The players most likely will have some of the dribble drive principals down and maybe a few set plays.

Cal said he isn't even going to coach a couple of the games and let the assistants run things.

Figured I'd give this a bump.

Kentucky beat Puerto Rico Reserves 74-49 (1-0).

Final Box Score (per Kyle Tucker twitter)

Another good performance today and Kentucky wins 81-58.

So impressed with this Kentucky team in the Bahamas. Playing without WCS & Lyles they still look so deep, huge & unselfish.

If Karl Towns plays like this all year, he’s got a shot at the No. 1 pick. 19 pts, 10 rebs, 3 asts vs. Chalons-Reims today. He’s special.

Alex Poythress having a major impact on both ends of the floor. Harrison twins look more poised and in better shape.

This also happened...

Watching the replay now since I could only listen earlier. Poythress looks so good right now.

And our second platoon just has a little something extra. I don't know if it's Ulis distributing or what. It's a thing of beauty though.
