Heard one of those (probably) made-up statistics that only 12% of the vehicles on the road today are manual transmissions. Since I'm one of those people, I thought I'd take my own unofficial poll.
If yes, what did you learn on? Mine was a Ford Falcon, 3-speed on the column (yuch).
What do you drive now? 2012 Subaru Forester for me.
Best stick you've ever driven? I got to drive a friend's BMW 320 many years ago and I'd pick that one, even though the Subaru is very good and the all-wheel drive has excellent feel and control.

Do wranglers even come in an automatic?

Learned to drive in a Volkswagen Beetle that was a stick. I remeber the pedals being hinged from floor too instead of hanging down from under dashboard. I owned a Honda Accord with a manual and frankly stop and go traffic will make you detest a stick quickly.
I will say my sister's 90 something MR2 was the funnest stick I ever drove.

Drove a 5 speed Wrangler up until a few months ago. It was my first car and I drove it for 8 years.

stick and 2 doors for 15 straight years and counting. DCT shifts faster but fun factor can't be compared vs. having 3 pedals.

Most are automatic that have "manual" mode where you can shift through 4 gears. The manual equipped ones go pretty fast and have few options, there was only one on the lot when I bought mine.

I don't think a jeep should come with an automatic it just seems unnatural.. I guess it's for the chicks

Every man should at least know how to drive a manual. I learned in a Jeep and have owned a few vehicles that were sticks but own automatics now because my wife doesn't know how to drive a manual.

I have a Tacoma that is a stick. I prefer them in 4x4s. My Jetta TDI is Auto with a manual option.

I like them but don't drive one currently. Learned on a Isuzu Trooper. My first car was a 69 Plymouth Valiant in poop brown. Straight 6, manual steering, manual transmission.

Never been rock crawling but could definitely see the benifit of an automatic for that.. I think standards are more fun to drive day to day

I don't drive one anymore, but my first car was a 5 speed Toyota Paseo, and we had a Wrangler a few years ago for a little while.
